Chapter 2 - Survive… or Die

Chapter 2: Survive… or Die

"Line up."

The command hit like a slap.

No warning.

No explanation.

Just absolute authority.

The children moved instantly.

Fear controlled their bodies better than any training could.

Kairo stood among them, silent, his fists clenched tightly at his sides.

His eyes didn't wander.

Didn't shake.

Didn't cry.

The tall man from before walked slowly in front of them.

Each step echoed across the stone floor.

Tap… Tap… Tap…

"You are weak," he said.

No emotion.

No hesitation.

"Every single one of you."

A boy beside Kairo started crying.

"I—I want to go home…" he sobbed.

The man stopped walking.

Slowly… he turned.

For a moment—

Everything froze.

Then—

BAM!

His foot slammed into the boy's chest.

The sound echoed like thunder.

The boy flew backward… crashing into the wall.

And didn't move again.

Silence.

Absolute silence.

Some of the children gasped.

One girl screamed.

Another collapsed to her knees.

Kairo didn't react.

But inside—

Something tightened.

"Let that be your first lesson," the man said calmly.

"Weakness… dies."

His eyes scanned the line again.

Cold.

Sharp.

Unforgiving.

"From today," he continued, "you have no names."

A pause.

"Names are attachments. Attachments are weakness."

One by one, he pointed at them.

"You are Eleven."

"You are Twenty-Three."

"You are Five."

The numbers replaced their identities.

Their pasts.

Their lives.

Then—

He stopped in front of Kairo.

A brief silence passed.

"…Ten."

Kairo said nothing.

But inside, a voice whispered:

My name… is Kairo.

"I will not lose it," he thought.

The First Test

Without warning, weapons were thrown onto the ground.

Small blades.

Short sticks.

Rough.

Unforgiving.

"Pick one," the man ordered.

"Quickly."

The children rushed.

Pushing.

Fighting.

Desperate.

Kairo didn't move immediately.

He watched.

Analyzed.

Waited.

Then—

He stepped forward calmly… and picked up a blade.

"Good," the man said.

Then his voice dropped.

"Now…"

A pause.

"Fight."

Confusion spread.

"What…?" someone whispered.

"Fight," he repeated.

"Last ten standing… live."

Panic exploded.

"No—please—!"

"I don't want to—!"

"STOP!"

But it didn't matter.

The first attack came from behind.

A boy swung wildly at another.

Blood splashed.

Screams filled the room.

Chaos.

Pure chaos.

Kairo stood still.

Watching.

Listening.

Learning.

A boy charged at him.

Shaking.

Terrified.

"I—I'm sorry!" he cried as he attacked.

Kairo moved.

Smooth.

Fast.

Precise.

He stepped aside—

Grabbed the boy's wrist—

And twisted.

CRACK.

The boy screamed.

Dropped the weapon.

Kairo didn't hesitate.

His blade flashed—

Silence.

The boy fell.

Dead.

No Turning Back

Kairo stared at the body.

For a second…

Just one second…

Time slowed.

I killed him…

Then—

A voice inside him answered:

If you didn't… you would be dead.

His grip tightened.

Emotion faded.

Another attacker came.

Then another.

This time—

Kairo didn't wait.

He moved first.

Faster.

Sharper.

Colder.

Blood stained the ground.

Bodies dropped one by one.

Across the room, another boy was fighting like a beast.

Strong.

Brutal.

Unstoppable.

Their eyes met for a brief moment.

The boy grinned.

That was Seven.

The Survivors

Minutes felt like hours.

Then—

Silence returned.

Bodies covered the floor.

Blood soaked the stone.

Only a few remained standing.

Ten.

Kairo stood among them.

Breathing steady.

Eyes empty.

The man nodded.

"Good."

Some of the survivors dropped their weapons.

Crying.

Shaking.

Broken.

Kairo didn't.

He still held his blade.

Ready.

A Monster is Noticed

High above…

Watching from the shadows…

A figure stood.

Master Raizen.

His eyes were fixed on one person.

Kairo.

"…Interesting," he murmured.

End of Chapter 2

As the bodies were dragged away, Seven walked past Kairo and stopped.

He leaned close.

Smiling.

Dangerous.

"You're different," Seven whispered.

A pause.

"I like that."

Kairo didn't respond.

But inside…

Something shifted.

Because for the first time—

He realized something terrifying.

He wasn't the only monster here.

🔥 Cliffhanger:

Kairo survived… but now he has a rival—and the real training hasn't even started yet.
