William stopped immediately. He pulled back and jolted upright on his knees.
"What happened? Where does it hurt?" he asked, his eyes scanning her body.
Thalia winced in pain. "Here…" She pressed her palm between her legs.
"But…" he frowned in confusion. "I only used a finger…"
His gaze dropped to his hand, and his eyes widened.
"You're bleeding."
He moved closer, instinctively trying to check, "What actually happened? Why are you bleeding?"
"Mr. Carter, don't look…" Thalia's cheeks flushed instantly, her hands still covering herself.
William didn't seem to hear her. He kept trying to move her hands away, his worry taking over.
"I don't understand… you've been married three times, but you're—"
He stopped. His eyes fixed on her as the realization slowly settled in.
"Is this your first time?"
Thalia's cheeks flushed deeper, her embarrassment making it hard to even breathe properly. But in the end, she gave a small nod.
