"It was another lie…"
Thalia pressed her lips together, trying her best to look guilty.
"Another lie?" William frowned deeply.
She gulped slowly before taking a careful breath.
"I was just trying… you know…" She laughed awkwardly. "I learned that trick from a hypnosis video I watched on VTube."
Then she blinked at him innocently, looking painfully sincere.
William let out an awkward chuckle before suddenly reaching over and cupping both of her cheeks.
"I know you're cute," he said, narrowing his eyes slightly, "but you're not getting out of this with that kind of lie, Mrs. Carter."
"I'm not lying," Thalia pouted immediately, trying to look annoyed as she pushed his hands away from her face. "Tiara always says I should use my charm to compel men, so I just tried it… because at that time I was panic when you found out about the marriage scam."
Her words instantly made William laugh.
