Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Screams Before Silence

As a loud explosion echoed from the direction of Ottar City,

Sota's gaze instantly turned toward it.

Sota and Medusa looked at each other for a moment—

then, without saying a word, they both started running toward Ottar City.

In Ottar City, the ground began to crack open in different places.

From those cracks, long black tentacles started emerging.

Their flesh was torn in places, with light blood seeping out from the cuts.

A green gas leaked from within them, releasing a burning, foul smell that irritated the nose.

The tentacles were writhing wildly in the air.

When people saw this—

they froze for a few seconds.

Then suddenly—

"AHHHHH!"

"Run!"

Screams filled the air.

People began running in all directions, panicking and shouting.

The emergency alarm started ringing across the city.

As soon as it went off, the Adventure Organization deployed their Knight Warriors.

They spread across the city, fighting the monsters and helping civilians escape.

But there was a problem—

no matter how much damage the monsters took…

they regenerated within seconds.

People were running everywhere.

Suddenly, a huge monster lifted its head toward the sky and let out a loud roar.

Its voice echoed across the entire city—

and in the next moment—

BOOM!

"Boom…"

"Boom…"

"Boom…"

Its body exploded.

Pieces of flesh scattered everywhere—

and each piece began turning into a new monster.

A rotten stench spread from them.

Now, monsters had spread throughout the entire city—

attacking everyone in sight.

A small child was running toward a bunker, trying to survive.

But the police stopped him.

"There's no space here. Go to another bunker!"

The child slowly turned to leave.

Then—

he heard a sound behind him.

He turned back—

fear and anger were clearly visible in his eyes.

The same man who had refused him entry—

was now allowing Mr. Aros and his entire family inside.

The child froze.

At that moment—

a small wolf-like monster appeared behind him.

Black drool was dripping from its mouth.

The child couldn't move.

His legs trembled.

His mind went blank.

"N… no… I don't want to die…"

The monster lunged at him—

"Aahhh!"

"No!"

It bit into his neck.

Blood started flowing.

The child's breathing slowly began to stop.

His vision turned blurry.

The monster continued clinging to him.

Suddenly—

a sharp strike came from behind.

A halberd sliced off the monster's head.

Blood splashed everywhere.

The monster's body collapsed over the child.

The child could barely see anything—

but he recognized that figure…

"Cl… clown…"

The clown lifted the child into his arms

and ran toward the bunker.

Breathing heavily, eyes filled with sadness, he shouted—

"Open the door! He needs treatment!"

The police refused again—

"There's no space here!"

The clown shouted angrily—

"There's not even space for a child?!"

The policeman lowered his head and removed his cap.

"…There really isn't any space."

The clown stared at him—

then turned away and ran toward another bunker.

Suddenly, he bumped into a man.

But he didn't stop—

he kept running forward.

The man walked to the bunker.

The police immediately opened the door—

and let him inside.

The child saw all of this.

His hand, which was holding onto the clown—

slowly fell down.

The clown stopped.

He knelt down and gently tapped the child's cheek.

"Tap…"

"Tap…"

"No… no… no…"

Tears filled his eyes.

He kept shaking the child.

His clothes and body were soaked in blood.

"AHHHHHHH!"
