Meila walked quickly along the streets of the town, with a very clear goal in mind… the black flame burning on her cheek flickered on and off, as if it were some sort of reminder.
Her pace unconsciously slowed, and her cold eyes were sizing up several bloodsuckers patrolling at night.
They probably weren't members of the Patrol Team, but bloodsuckers from the Farm's supervisory unit—their main task was to prevent the "crops" from secretly moving about at night.
A wave of hunger rose up… Meila felt as if a pair of great hands behind her were manipulating her body, steering her steps toward these bloodsuckers.
The black flame had given her tremendous Power… but this Power could not be maintained for long.
