Lin Sanjiu shuddered and stopped in her tracks, nearly causing Bohemia to crash into her back.
Ahead, the light from the Swimming Fish faintly illuminated the area, transforming the deathly still pitch-blackness into a hazy gloom. Deep within that gloom was a motionless dark figure. Its broken neck couldn't support its head, which hung low on its chest.
Bohemia swallowed hard. "...What was that sound just now?"
Lin Sanjiu didn't answer her.
"I-It wasn't that dead guy sighing, was it?"
The church was vast and empty. The low exhale just now had drifted and echoed between the four walls, spreading a spectral chill that made it hard to tell where it had come from.
But once again, she received no response. Bohemia glanced sideways at Lin Sanjiu and saw her frowning tightly, lost in thought, as if she hadn't heard a single word. "Hey!"
"What is it?"
