Madness, in its most expansive definition, refers to a profound and often chronic state of severe mental disorganization or derangement, significantly impacting an individual's perception, cognition, emotional responses, and behavior, to the extent that it deviates drastically from accepted societal norms and functional capacity.
Historically, the term was a broad, non-specific descriptor encompassing what modern psychiatry now classifies as various psychotic disorders (like schizophrenia and severe bipolar disorder), and other serious mental illnesses.
It is characterized by a loss of contact with reality, which can manifest as delusions (false, fixed beliefs resistant to reason or evidence), hallucinations (sensory experiences, such as hearing voices, in the absence of external stimuli), and disordered thinking or speech.
Beyond the clinical sphere, "madness" is also used metaphorically to describe a state of extreme irrationality, chaos, or obsession, whether in an individual's actions or in a collective social or political phenomenon. Crucially, while modern clinical terminology has largely replaced "madness" with more precise terms, its enduring cultural significance highlights the societal fear and fascination with the radical breakdown of the rational self and the consequent challenges to personal autonomy and social order.
That is what Jinwoo can call the state of Argie right now, he couldn't care less about his mental state. With a goal in mind, Jinwoo immediately rushed towards Argie, as the latter immediately planted multiple chains to multiple debris on the ground and threw them all towards Jinwoo.
Seeing this, Jinwoo sped up even more as he punched through the thrown debris and dodged some of a rebars that got ricochet towards his direction. For Jinwoo who has the chaos eyes of strength, passing through such obstacles were as easy as pie.
However Argie's attack didn't end there, as argie swung a 20 meter chain at Jinwoo, while injecting his mana into them, making them gain the capability to cut through obstacles like a butter knife.
With that, Jinwoo took one huge step forward, as he quickly jumped into the air to dodge the attack, and strike down towards Argie with a kick strike.
In response to this, Argie quickly spun to the side to dodge Jinwoo's kick, as he chained a car nearby and swung it towards Jinwoo, who caught it in one hand, as he pulled it off Argie's chain and threw it back at him.
With that Argie cut the car in half, as he made a sycthe made ot of chains, and swung it towards Jinwoo who barely dodged it by leaning backwards.
After that, Jinwoo clenched his fist as he threw in a punch, only for Argie to redirect his attack straight to the ground which blew a crater beneath them. Afterwards Argie threw in a punch which was caught by Jinwoo with his other hand, before he proceeded to kick his sides instead
With the armor he has on, Argie simply laughed off the attack as he felt the force behind such kick and grabbed Jinwoo by the collar, before throwing him above his shoulder and unto the walls nearby.
Crashing through the wall, Jinwoo immediately flipped over, as he charged back, which even surprised Argie himself. Using his experience he manage to get close to Argie, as he begun carrying out combo's left and right that even left Argie speechless.
To be exact, Jinwoo's combo left him unable to do anything at all. Just like that Jinwoo riddled Argie with attacks that even shook him who was in his armor.
As Jinwoo continued to punch the head, Argie finally had enough as he dodged Jinwoo fist, only to get knee kicked straight to his face. As if that wasn't enough, Jinwoo landed a strike from the back of his head and an elbow uppercut, which put Argie in a stunned state.
While being stunned, Jinwoo took the chance to summon his rod who was thrown to the side, as he continued delivering blows after blows at Argie until he snapped back to reality.
At that moment Argie grew even more crazed as he conjured two chain sickle and swung it towards Jinwoo. However in that moment Jinwoo finally had his rod in his hand as he did a double wheel swing to counter Argie's attack, which left the latter's conjured weapon destroyed.
Staring at him cold with his glowing eyes Jinwok thrusted his rod forward as he used "Extend & Expand" to blow away Argie and crash him though multiple houses, while immediately restracting his rod and use the same "Extend" to catch up towards Argie. In this moment he couldn't care less about Argie, as their battleground shifted from the middle of a residential area towards the river separating the business area and residential area.
With a swing from his rod, Jinwoo pinned Argie to the ground, which only enraged the latter himself and pushed off the rod and catch Jinwoo by the neck with his chains. With the enemy finally caught, Argue then dragged Jinwoo across the ground and unto the river. However Jinwoo quickly recovered as he breaks Argie's hold unto his using his rod, by striking it down in full force that even Argie's reinforced chains can't tank.
Upon seeing this, Argie went fully mad, as he sent multiple chains striking as fast as the speed of sound towards Jiwoo, only for the latter to lock his gaze towards Argie and threw his rod at him "Pierce!!!"
In that moment both of their attacks landed as Jinwok got chains puncture his body like a sponge and Argie having Jinwoo's weapon pierce through his armor and stabbing his body through squarely at his heart.
With that both Jinwoo and Argie spat out a mouthful of blood, as both of them took a moment to glance at their wounds and glare at each other.
Upon having their gaze meet each other, Argue couldn't help but laugh at their situation, as he fully felt the thrill in this battle. The agents in this man made city over the ocean was truly like a den of monsters. Not only did he found multiple agents who have potential to become the strongest in their own field, but he also found monsters pretending to be a lamb and doesn't even recognize the tremendous power they have within.
Seeing it upfront now, Argie finally understand that despite August strength, he never once fully antagonize the organization. Not knky were they troublesome, but he also can't afford to awaken the dormant monsters of the city.
In fact he even begun to wonder that if talents like Jinwoo and his peers were to appear at the very beginning of the apocalypse, would the future of this world be different. The answer for that was something unknown for them. The most he could think up was those stories he had read as a kid.
If such people were to appear at the very beginning of the apocalypse, then the world would have been hunters vs monsters. Unfortunately reality and fiction are two separate thing, and their reality was that it was already too late when their abilities awakened. The world by then was already unrecognizable.
"Ah truly this wi be the finale, show me more"
