"You think the brothers just did this and stopped paying attention?" she asked with a tone that made it clear how much she didn't like that idea.
"Perhaps paying attention minorly since the silver eyed warriors are a thing but beyond that? Absolutely. If I had to assume I'd say they punished you and thought the matter at an end there. Then they sent Ozma's soul back with his own curse of reincarnation on a whim. He probably fit the bill for who they thought would try and fulfill their mission from those of the previous humanity. It was only after he caused you to go all evil mistress of death and destruction that they created the silver eyed ones to counter the Grimm you commanded." I explained frankly.
"So everything was just..... coincidence? Like a variable that they had to alter around but otherwise didn't care about?" she asked with her teeth clenched in anger.
"That's godhood." I said with a shrug. "Sitting in such a lofty position makes caring about anything that doesn't directly affect you nearly impossible." I add honestly.
"How repulsive." she spat.
"You did that too you know? Treated other people like tools and then ignored or tossed them aside when they stopped being useful." I pointed out and she winced.
"It was the corruption." she used a defense so weak it would crumble at the slightest touch.
"Perhaps." I said not pressing further.
We moved on from that easily enough and settled back into the comfortable schedule of me teaching her on an accelerated timeline so she could blend in while equally looking over the Beauxbatons textbooks since they weren't in fact the same as Hogwarts. Ignoring the obvious DADA class textbooks the other subjects had different materials as well.-
Nothing more advanced than what I had already learned obviously but some small nuggets of information that had been locked behind the geographical isolation of the british magical communities knowledge pool. While we over here shared a lot of the same knowledge as our neighbors there was naturally always going to be a few pieces that get published exclusively in house for every community. That was what I was looking at now. I even had to take a trip across the channel just to grab the books written in french.-
Was it worth the effort?
Not really, no.
Like I said it was MOSTLY the same with a few minor differences. Still I was nothing if not professional and got all the supplies my list called for to keep up appearances. Finally the first of September arrived and it was time for me to depart for Hogwarts where I would formally get transferred to Beauxbatons as a part of the student exchange. It was a whole traditional thing where Madam Maxime would be there with her student and Dumbledore would be there with me. I and the other student would shake hands, chat for a few moments to give each other some advise in a friendly manner before swapping our places with me standing next to Madam Maxime and the other student next to Dumbledore.-
After that the two headmasters would acknowledge each other before the leaving party did precisely that. It was a whole political show of solidarity between our schools. Probably with cameras and reports too.
"Are you sure you won't have any time to teach me more?" Salem asked reluctant to see me leave.
"I'll be spending the vast majority of my own time attending classes or delving the library of the school for further knowledge. As it stands you already have a solid foundation in this world. If you spend the time to continue your education on your own you'll be beyond suspicion in maybe three months at most. I truly do suggest putting extra attention into potioneering. That way you can earn a stable income from selling your product. Not a lot at your current level but enough to assuage the outflow of funds that come with living." I say seriously.
"I would wish you safety but that seems almost redundant given your power." she said with a disappointed look.
I nod before elementalizing and shooting into the sky and then towards Kings cross station.
I arrived moments later just outside the barrier to platform nine and three quarters like a phantom before walking through. I was neither late nor early to the station so the platform was in full swing with families sending off their children for the year. I spotted Draco being sent off by his stern father and almost fussy mother along with a few others.
"How unusual. The Wrackspurts seem to be avoiding you." a soft voice said from nearby that I already knew the source of before I even turned to it, Luna Lovegood.
"I run a little hot. They'd be fried if they got too close." I say calmly.
"I do suppose that would do the trick. Must be nice." she said with a small smile.
"I do get quite a lot done without them fuzzying up my mind. Dreadful things when you need to study." I joked lightly.
"Hmmm, are you a Ravenclaw? I like Gryffindor myself. Full of brave people my father tells me." she says as we walk towards the train.
"Indeed. Brave but equally rash and impulsive. Not the most studious normally however. Except Hermione, she's something special. You'll see what I mean." I say casually.
