The battle ended in victory. But it doesn't mean they are happy. Most of the Pack lost their lives and some are injured while others are severely wounded. The worst part is the poison in their body is killing them.
"Did you catch anyone?". Luke asked his Beta.
"Yes we already send them in silver prison. What do we do about the wounded?". Drew asked him.
"I don't know. If the pack doctors can't find the answer". Luke stopped and looked at Selena busy helping everyone. "I hope she does!".
"Does she also have that kind of ability?". Drew have a wonder in his eyes. If their future Luna have all the abilities of visions and healing she will be become the most powerful Luna in the land. Everybody will going to love her.
"I don't know". But Luke is hoping. "Drew send message to everyone who knows Selena's ability. Make them keep their mouth shut!". He ordered him.
Drew was surprised with his Alpha's order. "Aren't we supposed to be giving her an award or some recognition. She help us, we owe her our lives. Don't you think she won't be upset that her efforts just went to nothing?". He protested. He knows Selena deserves much better than being ignore. Today he don't understand his Alpha's decision and he don't want to agree.
"This is for her own good. Besides I know she will refuse anything that will put her on the spotlight". Luke sound certain about his decision. But inside him there's a certain concern. He noticed how those rogues tried to tackle her but not to hurt her probably to take her. He was worried and confused about their behaviour. He needs a further investigation about his suspicion.
Drew didn't opposed his Alpha anymore. He already decided. For now he wants to see for himself what the future Luna will do if her efforts were ignored. If she's too greedy she will asked for a recognition herself but if what Luke was saying is right she will have his pure loyalty.
All the injured wolves were brought to the infirmary. There are doctors and nurses attending to all the wounded. Even the elderly and all who didn't participate in the battle are there to give their assistance. Young warriors are screaming in pain while the older ones grimaced.
"Dr. Hoon, how's my people?". Luke is very worried specially for the younger ones. They are screaming loudly. This is the first time they felt like dying and death is like a torture for them.
"Alpha, the poison in their body is out of our knowledge. We need to do a lot of experiments and tests to know what it is and where it came from". The doctor have no other idea about the poison.
Luke can hear how the young boys and girls screamed in pain. It's breaking his heart. They are too young to suffer like this.
Two arms hold his waist from behind. He just let her. He knows her scent.
"I'm sorry". Selena said sadly. Her heart is breaking seeing Luke in a very devastating moment.
"Sorry for what?... We should be thanking you. You saved the lives of my people". He sincerely said to her.
Selena shook her head. "If I act earlier this won't happen. I ignored those scented oil in their bodies. I should have known better". She feels ashamed. Her knowledge about those oils comes back late to her memory.
"What do you mean about those scented oils?". Luke was surprised. She knows something. "Selena please tell me what do you know about these oils?". He is eager to know but he still needs to be gentle in asking her.
"My Mom, she can make different types of herbals and oils". Selena said without hesitation.
"Selena, I think we need Erin's help!". Luke saw her nod.
Luke and Selena went back to the fortress to see Luke's parents.
"Mother, Father. Selena and I will go to the town!". He asked their permission. He might be an Alpha of the Pack but he is still a good son.
"What for?". Larry asked in confusion.
"My Mom, I think she can help us!". Selena answered for them.
"Is your Mom a witch?". Avery asked directly to her.
"Not as far as I know".
"Probably an alchemist". Drew blurted his own opinion and every head turns to him. "I read it in the book of life". He was referring about their sacred book. There are some parts that explained different kind of species in the extraordinary world.
Luke's brows knitted. He already forgot about that book. He decided to visit it after this emergency.
"Go ahead my little honey and see your mother. Luke will take care of you". Avery send them some kisses in the air.
"Do you have your keys?". Selena asked him.
"We don't need keys baby. You only need me!". Then he shift and Lucas takes over. "Hop in my Mate".
"Lucas!". Selena's eyes grew big in shocked then shook her head. She murmured the name of Luke's wolf. Shifting in front of her eyes always surprises her. She can't really get a hang of it. Her male god is actually an Alpha Wolf.
Lucas is now running very fast while Selena is riding on his back. She lowered her body and head like she's almost hugging Lucas' fur body. The wind is slapping Selena's face and she don't want to be thrown off Lucas.
Minutes later they've reach Luke's house. He shifted back and Selena covered her eyes.
"What's with those covering eyes?.... It's like you haven't seen my body before". He teased her.
"It's for my own good so please, put something on quick!". She said. She is afraid mostly of herself. She might jump him if she saw his chiselled body. Then she heard Luke laughed.
Minutes later he came back to her.
"I'm well dressed. You can look at me now". He said casually.
Selena turned her head to see her man just to be stunned again. "Sweet mother Mary!".
He was wearing a white muscle shirt that hug his perfect ten body. A ripped jeans that fits and accentuate his strong legs and thigh. She swallowed hard.
"Are you eye raping me again with clothes on?". He slowly walks towards her and touch her lips with his thumb. His palm is touching her cheeks. "We can do a little quickie".
Selena feels a magnet pulling her towards Luke. Her eyes were glued on his lips. She felt a thirst inside her throat and dryness of her mouth. She licked her lips and wondered how tasty her Alpha's lips right now.
"Selena stop staring or I might lose control". He whispered in her ear.
Selena snap back. She bit her lip out of embarrassment and she remembered what he just said. "No quickie". She blurted.
"Of course.... No quickie!". Luke laughed.
"Ahm.... Luke can we go to the Academy first. I want to see Mark and his friends". She was worried about them. They are probably wondering what happened to their family.
"About that, I". Luke paused and looked at her.
"What's wrong?". She was throwing him an innocent look.
Luke's heart aches and he feels weak. He tried to hide the truth from her because he don't want her to worry. But there are things she needs to know.
"Mark, Sam, Kevin and Clint are all in the infirmary too". He said calmly.
"Oh I didn't see them come home. They are probably so worried about their family and friends". She sadly said and sadness filled her eyes.
"Yes they were worried. That's why they joined the battle and got hurt".
Selena felt a bomb just exploded inside her ears. She looked at Luke with disbelief. "Why didn't you tell me?".
"They don't want you to know and they don't want you to get worried". Luke tried to explain slowly to her that it was the four lads who requested to hide it to Selena that they will participate in the battle.
Selena's tears fall. "Those fools!". She cursed them. They are like her four rascal little brothers and she grew fond of them. Now they are probably one of the young people screaming in pain inside the infirmary and she didn't know about it.
Luke gave her his warmest embrace. His heart aches for her. He knows how she treasured them. She never had a real friends before. She probably already have the Luna effect. Where her heart breaks for every wounded children. A Luna is a mother of all wolves and she have a heart that beats for all of her children. Her courage is their courage but their demise is her heart break.
"Don't worry we will get through this". Luke is patient. She still needs time to take in every emotions of a Luna.
Selena hugs him tight. Her heart is breaking so bad she wants to borrow some strength.
