I hoped to write a very FLAWED character who is as hated as much as she is loved because she is human and she makes real, simple and stupid decisions and mistakes like every one of us. I DID NOT WANT TO WRITE HER AS PERFECT, as someone who has some aspects of her life figured out because I know we all know how it feels like to not have single part of our lives figured out. and that is OKAY. IT IS SCARY and hard to admit especially when we meet everyday people who seem to have it all figured out.
I hope that as you read about Sahara, you can relate and even find solace and strength in her story. I also hope that you can carry a light each day within you when you remember her knowing that things will fall into place even in your darkest hour, that we may cry tears of blood at night, but the day is ours to seize. I hope everyone remains healthy and happy as the strive for a fulfilled life. And if you feel like that's far away, remember that fulfilment is whatever you make of it. It doesn't need to be perfect, and it will look different for everyone, but it just needs to be yours.
To all the Saharas, it's ok to not be ok.
