Chapter 20 - °Twenty•Mental Asylum°

I was brought to a mental asylum without the need to see a psychiatrist. According to the police, me screaming and yelling at empty air was enough alibi. This seems like a run-down place. We were allowed to do whatever we want but we get abused by the guards here and have to be kept alive.

As I was lead into this place for the first time, I noticed it was fenced with electric wires. The terror of people screaming and laughing. The sight of guards torturing the people because they wouldn't eat. I was scared. No, I was terrified. I don't think my guardian angel is here with me. I doubt she could get past the electric fence.

I was thrown into a cell after I was walked through. "It's not your time yet," the guard said and left me in a cell of nothingness. It was locked and everything is white but very moldy. The bed is made of stone, so is the chair and table. I sat down on the hard surface of the so-called bed. There's nothing I could really do but wait. Is there a gym? I really hope there is. I knew I should've trained more.

While waiting, I might as well do some squat punches. Yeah, I'll do that. I got off the bed and started to squat and threw some punches every squat.

Bang!

The lock on my door dropped as two buff men came over and pulled me away from my spot. "Oh ho ho, where are we going?" I asked sarcastically, knowing they might not answer. And they did not. I was pulled and had to forcefully walk past a lot of people who have already gone too crazy to come back.

The scent of fresh blood and dried out blood fills my nose as I scrunched it up. I looked up to see a huge frame and a mirror beside it. The room was filled with blood, just a lot of blood and it stinks. I was tied onto the frame as horror filled my face. This is their torture chamber. I struggled to at least try to break free.

I screamed and tried to escape. The door of the room slams shut as the mirror was pulled in front of me. My eyes widen in horror as I saw a man from the corner of my eyes pulling his hands back. What was that he was holding? What is that thing?

WHIP!

It's a whip! I yelled out in pain as a line of stinging after-pain forms on my back.

WHIP!

My back arched from the contact especially as I didn't have the time to recover from the previous whip.

WHIP!

I cried out in terror. I was terrified, the pain spreads as if it was a fast-spreading virus.

WHIP!

I pant heavily after yelling out. Warm liquid flows down and each whip-line burns as my sweat drip on them.

WHIP!

"Stop!" I yelled out, praying that they will.

WHIP!

No more, please! I cried in my heart. My body won't be able to take it anymore!

WHIP!

I see a weak entity in front of me staring back at me. He's glaring at me as if it's my fault I'm in here.

WHIP! WHIP! WHIP!

Three whips hit my skin one after another. The pain got to my head and every single inch of my body. I stopped yelling out in pain. It doesn't help.

WHIP!

Back to the one. My eyes shaded in darkness. Is this really how I will go by my days after this until I escape? I shudder at the thought.

WHIP!

Was that the last whip? I don't know, it was the last one I've felt before I went unconscious.

My eyelids felt heavy as I forced my eyes to open. It's so bright now, I guess it's the next morning or so. My back felt sore and numb. My body unwilling to move as I was placed, or most probably thrown onto the floor. I laid there, not able to move. A guard came in and threw a piece of bread onto my face and I struggled to move my hands to put it in my mouth.

My stomach growling, begging me to move faster and fill it up even with such minimal food. My hands carefully made their way to the bread and push it into my mouth. A bowl of water was placed beside me. The guard stared at me, it feels as if he was mocking me. He stood there just staring at me for a few more moments before leaving the room.

After finishing the torturous meal of plain bread, I reached towards the bowl to make sure my throat doesn't crack because it's so dry. My hands shaking as I brought it to my mouth. I can barely see the bowl in this position. The water wetting my throat and I made sure every single drop of it lands in my mouth.

I carefully placed the bowl by my side, trying not to alarm the guards, and tried to get some rest. However, the screaming, crying, and laughter of the others fill my ears and I'm not able to sleep. The noise wouldn't allow me to. Will they torture me until they find a new person to torture?

A lady walks in, giggling, and shut the door. Her giggles stopped after checking the surrounding noises, well I thought she was. She walked over to me and bent down to me, "Act crazy and they won't torture you, start laughing and they'll be satisfied," she said and started to laugh again, "It's the only way you'll survive walking around."

"Why....are you..... helping.... me," I choked out. She looked at me with a huge grin, "your screams last night doesn't sound like it belongs to a madman's," she simply responded and giggled. Footsteps were heard and she giggled louder and started to slap my face. I quickly shut my eyes pretending to be asleep.

The door cracks open and she laughs louder and poked my cheeks. The door shuts and her laughter gradually dies down. "You can be the key to helping us who are pretending to be mad out of here," she giggled, "we can escape together."

She got up and started to laugh and leaves my room. She left me hanging. Who is she? How many are they? What was I supposed to do? Can I even trust them? Questions fill my head as I struggle to answer them by myself. I need to get out. It's that one thing I'm most determined to do as of right now.
