Chapter 168 - Chapter 167 Mocking truce?

"You got yourself severely harmed by the silver fire, how unbecoming of you Bal"

Lugh mocked his hand perched on his cheek, his gold eyes stared out the window with Bal's voice ringing in his ear, Lugh smiled ever so slightly hearing a slight hiss coming from Bal.

"It's not as easy as I once thought you would know of it Lugh," Bal cajoled

Lugh's smile flinched as his hand gripped the phone, that high pest dared mention his encounter while he was unscathed from his encounter. Mostly.

"I see you still have a sharp wit after she cut through your chest you still have air to do with it" Lugh seethed,

Lugh heard Bal smirk. His signature grin and he could also hear the faint tiny footsteps from his spider from the phone, pounding onto the wooden desk near Bal,

"I don't believe it would have stopped my wit even if she cut out my own lungs,"

Bal laughed ringing into Lugh's ear, he leaned away from the phone blasting out that horrendous laughter made his ears bleed, internally made his soul shutter but his angel ignored it bitterly,

"I swear he finds people like him just to piss me off" Tuatha muttered

Lugh peered at his shoulder feeling small bird feet gripping his shoulder tightly, Tuatha stared down at Lugh his gaze a distasteful glare not at Lugh perhaps but the phone, Lugh nods agreeing with him a soft mutter escaped his lips,

"I know Tuatha but for now with stand there in ignorance"

Tuatha scoffed his feathers puffing up his head tilted towards the phone, when

Bal hummed after finishing laughing even through the phone they felt his power from it, his gaze they felt through the thin lines of power. His eyes. He could see them then eight more appeared. Lugh and Tuatha could see it vividly, gleaming with the same mischief they know and hate so well. Tuatha glared at the phone with Lugh. But he heard a soft dark voice coming from the phone,

"I heard that ignorance can be a drug but it matters who's addicted to it."

Formoir purred hearing ruffing from the other side, Tuatha rolled his eyes knowing he was in his host's hair like a master of strings. Tuatha flew off Lugh's shoulder to the other shoulder, closer to the phone.

"You're insinuating that we're addicted to such ignorance. Of that silver stare you ogle so much,"

Bal let out a amused laugh and Formoir let out a chuckle of his own, they heard the soft footsteps again grabbing the phone from what they thought, thats when they heard Formoir let out a treacherous purr,

"Just me Tuatha? You helped her grow more than I did."

Tuatha froze on Lugh's shoulder, his eyes a blank stare, Lugh observed his angle frozen like he's covered in stone before a flicker came from his eyes, pain. Long pushed down pain. Forgotten for centuries until Formoir brought it up.

"I helped her into what she is now. Not following her like a lost stalker vying for her gaze. Or even her rage" Tuatha scoffed his dove like form fluffed at the tail and started to glow, an obscene gold, it only got worse with Formoir and Bal laughing again, this time it was louder than before. Tuatha feathers scattered around Lugh's office. Laugh felt Tuatha suffering anger emerge from his small form,

"You know fully well I wanted the same as"

Formoir interrupts him, his voice deep and calm.

"Peter? Yes, I acknowledge that for some time now, Tuatha we both recognize that you didn't want to harm her. You wanted her to be chained just like we have. You and Peter are much alike.."

"DONT YOU PAIR ME WITH HIM!"

Tuatha shouted a snip of his hidden rage exposed, the light blinds Lugh and made the phone line shake, breaking up on Lugh's side. Lugh was able to open his eyes staring at the bright dove, Tuatha seemed like a lamp on his shoulder about to break from too much power.

"Tuatha calm down, you will blind me at this rate." Lugh expressed his hand pressed onto the angel, his feather beamed light but also burned. It singed his hair but Lugh still brushed his finger over Tuatha feathers, Tuatha peered fiercely at his host, Tuatha's eyes almost turned into slits, and the ring around the pupils glowed a dark gold.

"I know Lugh. But he will not slander what I have done. Or have helped with"

Tuatha announced, his light dimmed slightly with his feathers now showing, and it was scattered waiting for a target. Lugh hummed he moved pressing his ear back onto the phone, hearing it seizing, he sighed hearing only a soft hiss from the other line, Bal had moved the phone away from his ear, his eyes squinted into a pissed glare,

"He can't even calm his angel down. What a displeasure for this call. Much less knowing him," Bal scoffed his eyes trailed to his phone seeing Formoir shaking Bal stared at him hesitant at first, he then smirked hearing a faint chuckle coming from his angel, Formoir chuckled where small at first but it only grew with the phone clearing up,

"That was what I wanted hahaha…you really have held that in haven't you turtle dove?"

Formoir asked in a baiting manner, Bal felt a string move his phone back to his ear and Formoir stayed on his shoulder, snuggling into his jacket with his eight eyes focused on the phone a amused look in them,

"Go on Bal ask Lugh i will keep turtle dove in check" Formoir assured his eyes half lid,

Bal watched him unconcerned his hand pressed the phone to his ear, the string hanging closely to his hand, he heard Tuatha on the other end of the phone sneer,

"Turtle dove you piece of shit I knew I should have stayed away from this call,"

Formoir laughed once more his small form trembled in the wrinkles of Bals his eyes observed the phone with a calm, waiting, its eight eyes gleamed predatory, hearing the slight ruffling of feathers from the other line as he queried,

"Tell me how's Ceth…Lenn and how's Blake doing and of course the silver fire. How do you plan to help with her Tuatha?"

Tuatha from the other side, felt his feather fluffed up, his gaze darkened along with the shine from his feathers following,

"What I plan is simple take her away before he can" Tuatha uttered

"You plan to take her, are you? Then I believe you thought she wouldn't like that would you?"

"I didn't mean like that,"

Formoir halted, his breath hitched, his body froze, his eyes widened slightly as Bal laughed swell moving around the room, Bal leaning on his elbow a grin he always wore, his hand tightened on the phone,

"You can't be serious Tuatha. That's hilarious"

Bal's laughter got louder as he held his wounded chest close, his hand over the pulsing wound. He could still feel the burning from her coursing through his chest, her stoic voice from behind him saying the most cutthroat thing that made him chuckle. His grin only grew catching Formoir staring back at him,

"They believe they can kill our silver flame when you and I barely could han.."

"Stop Bal you know you didn't go to your full extent"

Bal's grin faltered hearing Lugh's sharp retort, he almost lost his grip on the phone, Formoir wrapped more webs around his hand, staring at his host.

"You held back Bal. More than you want to admit to me."

Lugh announced a deep. tense and accusing, Lugh peered around his office feeling him and Tuatha. However, it seeped in. They all crept into his office. His soul and angel. Lugh glanced at Tuatha, staring into each other, they both knew that the oath would do this. They all have their angel warn them ahead of time. Lugh hesitated feeling the weight from the other side of the call, he wasn't thrilled he knew. It's like a string wrapped around his neck choking Lugh, he sighed his eyes a piercing dull look at Tuatha,

"Even with you holding back the oath is finished, we have gathered strength now. We are stronger."

Lugh explained his hand tightened on his phone, having Tuatha tighten his grip on his shoulder. The feathers around him got closer. Circling them. Lugh heard Bal from the other end a growl of sorts, maybe a scoff.

"I held back for a reason Lugh I didn't want to go against her like that just yet," Bal explained

"You had a blade through your chest for it. You doubted her Bal and made yourself weak for what, bleeding out for laughs?"

Lugh let out mockingly, Bal's grin turned sinister his laughter turned violent, he knew he messed up but not in the way Lugh thought. He genuinely was caught off by her but the internal thrill, having her conflict with him and place that burning blade in him, made him feel more powerful than the oath he signed his soul to.

"I wanted to toy with her. See what made the silver flame so renowned, that burning flame is wanted to seek it for myself. And she found me," Bal uttered blissfully. Formoir glanced at him before rolling his eyes,

"Sucker." Formoir scoffed

Bal glared at him, flicking Formoir causing the spider to fall off his shoulder.

"Ack..did you just flick me flesh bag?"

"Yes I did bug"

Formoir crawled up the web and made it to Bal's shoulder glaring at him. His small legs dug through the jacket cutting into his shoulder, Formoir seethed softly,

"Putrid human flicking their power off their shoulder, next time I would let you bleed out"

Bal peered at him amused when he heard Lugh's mocking tone through the phone again. Bal's eyes slitted a deliberate glare at the phone hoping Lugh felt it,

"And did you? I recalled your capo Don telling you what happened with her and me."

"He did, I was so pleased hearing you were in pain just by her fire"

"Then you can imagine how I feel now"

A silence passed through them. A stall mate, Tuatha scanned Lugh, he was stiff. Too stoic, trying to hide what dreads him. His gaze held back his most inner thoughts but Tuatha knew better. His soul told him he was livid. His hand clenched his phone so hard that cracks from the glass screen started to appear. Lugh felt the sudden heat surge around him, anticipating Bal's response.

"You aren't wrong Lugh"

Lugh heard it. But he couldn't believe it. He didn't say he was wrong all out but he admitted he was in the wrong of sorts. Lugh didn't believe it at first but he didn't see what Formoir had. Formoir witnessed Bal contemplating leaning back. Formoir small body swayed. He clenched onto Bal's shoulder, Bal stared off at the door, Formoir peered at him, his gaze teared away from the long silent phone, he was blank, his grin long since gone in place of a thoughtful expression. Formoir glared at Bal sending his soul and knew what he was feeling.

"Bal you're serious on this, you feel like him a dread, the underlying caution you both know. And you want his help?"

Bal slowly peered at Formoir and nodded stiffly. Reluctant. His gaze held a shadow, knowing he couldn't beat her alone was ever growing in his mind.

"You saw her, we were letting her cut into us, I paid for it. We doubted her even at our amusement,"

Bal emphasized he hand lean away from the phone and with a hushed whisper he says to Formoir,

"If it means having his help, then I will sacrifice our luxury for now Formoir,"

Formoir scoffed glaring at him when he moved, his head facing more to the phone,

"You're a villain from a sitcom trying to help the other you flesh bag" Formoir mocked

"It might seem that way" Bal uttered placing the phone to his ear hearing Lugh quite, when Bal heard,

"I won't trust you Bal even with the oath you are a terrorist to me"

"Well if i try,"

Bal purred his shoulder and shrugged, Bal's gaze darkened, his lips returned to his signature grin, leaning on his hand, Bal looked at Formoir,

"Then you want to help me with Avalon or do you want to take a risk with the twins, maybe none at all?"
