Chapter 120 - What Is Seen Cannot Be Unseen

I counted eight beings, grey, and ghost-like in appearance, with mouths covering almost the full breadth of their faces. Hundreds of razor-sharp teeth were protruding out to the point where even the warmest of smiles seemed terrifying. Not only that, their naked bodies were stick-thin and featureless, making the Ingara appear so much more menacing.

I quickly hid my misgivings, though; knowing what they had just done for me, how could I greet them with anything less than kindness. I thought back to my guide's first question and realised why it had been asked. Gwenvere wanted to know how I would treat other Ingara when I encountered them in their natural forms.

'It is a pleasure to meet you, Gwenvere.'

'Likewise, Jake Goodwin,' When my guide spoke, her entire face contorted, with every word causing her mouth to split wide. 'How do you feel?'

'Honestly, before the final rune, I felt as though I was about to break apart on the molecular level.'
