The monster's roar echoed throughout the dark rainy forest.
Rin Ashford tightened his finger on his old iron rusted sword.
His hands shaked, yet he forced himself to take a step forward
"Just one monster,"
(he whispered to himself).

The monster looked like a wolf with black fur stained with blood. Its eyes glowed reddish in the darkness.
Behind Rin,two other hunters watched.
"Why did the guild send an F-rank like him?" (one of them muttered).
"Relax,"
(the other replied with a smirk).
"The monster will finish him quickly."
Rin heard them.
Everyone in the guild knew Rin Ashford is the weakest hunter in town.
In a world where hunters were ranked from F to S, Rin had been stuck at the bottom since the day he joined.
Most F-rank hunters quit after a while.
Rin didn't.
He couldn't.
His father had been a hunter once. A strongest once. A monster took his life 5 years ago.
Rin still remembered the day the guild brought his father's broken sword covered in blood back home.
That was the day Rin decided he would become a hunter too.
Even if he was called weak.
The monster suddenly lunged.
"MOVE"(one hunters yelled)
Rin jumped back in time. The wolfs claws hit the ground where Rin was standing.
Rins heart was beating so fast in his chest.
The sound ringed in Rins ears.
The wolf attacked again swiping its claws across Rin's chest.
Rin managed to block the attack. The force was so strong that it sent Rin crashing to the ground.
Rin's sword flew out of his hand.
The hunters, behind Rin laughed at him.
"I knew this would happen" (Rin thought).
Rins vision started to get all fuzzy..
The monster was getting closer and closer to Rin with its big and heavy body due to which the ground shacked under its foot.
This is really the end, for me the monster is going to get me (Rin thought).
"So this is it…" (Rin thought).
He felt anger rising in his chest.
Not fear.
Not regret.
Just anger.
Anger at being so weak.
Anger at being laughed at by all.
Anger that he still couldn't protect anyone.
The monster raised its claws once again.
Rin closed his eyes.
But the attack never came.
Instead.
(A strange voice echoed in his mind.)
System detected…

Rin's eyes snapped open.
"What…?" (Rin thought).
The monster suddenly froze.
A strange blue light surrounded Rin's body.
The hunters watching from behind stepped back in shock.
"What the hell is happening?"
