Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Start Of A New Adventure?

In the distance there lied a boy with messy hair as black as the night sky, from what you could see he had quite a slim figure and wasn't too tall. His name was Ken Ai.

The boy raised his arm and clenched his fist at the sky as if he was trying to grab hold the sun. The blinding light shined bright through the leaves of the tree. He sighed in boredom saying,

"It really is a great day today to do absolutely nothing."

A loud voice echoed in the distance, shouting, "Ken!"

It was his mother Ken lept up and casually walked towards her since Ken knew he had been slacking off when he should've been helping her run some errands. Ken may only be fifteen, but even at such a young age. He is said to be the most powerful magic-user in his village.

"Don't you remember you were supposed to help me today!"

Suddenly, Ken had remembered, and begun to scratch his head looking away while saying, "Oh right, that was supposed to be today!"

"Don't tell me you forgot... Well, it doesn't matter since I was just about to head out to Alecentria to pick up some things. Seeing that you're so busy doing nothing, guess I'll have to go alone."

It took Ken a few moments to realise what she was talking about, but as soon as it registered, he became ecstatic. "Wait, you mean Alecentria the place with all those cool looking knights and stores!?!"

Ken's mother looked confused replying with "There is no other Alecentria..."

Ken's eyes shined bright, "What kind of question is that. Of course, I want to come along!"

Ken ran home eagerly as fast as he could to grab some things before he left. He got everything, he needed and headed for the entrance of the village. There his mother waited patiently, for Ken to arrive.

On the way there Ken ran into a builder from the village he was holding a large plank of wood heading for the forest area. He turned his attention to Ken, saying, "Oh is that you Ken? You seem to be more energetic than usual."

"Hey Dave, don't have much time to talk, I'm heading to Alecentria with my mother! And what's with that wood? Are you building a new house or something?"

"This? It's for fixing the fence over by the forest, the old one kind of broke down on us, so it's pretty dangerous. It'll probably take a few days, but no need to worry about it just everything to your friendly neighbourhood builder Dave!"

Ken didn't seem like he had much faith and said, "Sure... well, I need to get going so I'll be seeing you!"

In this world; it's rare for people to go out too far from their village mostly because it's dangerous. This world is composed of three lands which each cover a large amount of territory. The one Ken is from is named Zarxion it's said to have the biggest and most powerful empire this leads it to be the safest to live in, so not many people dare to try and go against it.

A simple visit to Alecentria may not seem like much, for ken because he rarely left the village it was just like going on a small adventure. On the way there Ken was full of energy and couldn't stop moving checking every single little detail along the way. But after about thirty minutes they took a short break to stand in the shade.

"Hey, can I ask you something it's quite important..."

"Is it about leaving the village again?"

"How did you know!"

"I guess you could call it a mothers intuition."

"If your true dream is to become an adventurer and travel the world, anything I say or do won't be enough to stop you. I can't keep you chained to the village forever; I realise that now. But I'll only let you go on one condition."

"Whatever it is, I'll accept it!"

"Be sure to never forget about us... the village I mean."

Ken's expression changed, it was like he became filled with anger after thinking about a memory which he wanted to keep locked away, "I won't I'll never abandon you or the village like he did."

"I see, I'm glad to hear that."

The rest of the walk; was filled with silence. You could tell Ken, and his mother had a lot on their mind after that conversation ended. After thirty or so minutes passed, the two had finally arrived at Alecentria.

Knights stood around the entrance keeping guard Ken couldn't avert his eyes off of them. All around the marketplace were many different kinds of people that all had their own stories to tell. After doing some shopping Ken and his mother split up and promised to meet up in two hours. It may not have been much time, but Ken wanted to use as much of it as he could.

However, the first thing Ken did after splitting up was standing in front of the statue of the first king of Zarxion. He was the man who founded this kingdom and saved it countless times. A lot of people referred to him as a "one-man army".

An elderly gentleman holding a wooden stick to support his movement approached Ken, he had a moderately long white beard and bald head, wearing a blue and black robe. Ken looked over at him in bewilderment, wondering what he wanted. The man stood there not saying anything, looking deeply into Ken.

Ken wanted to move, but for some reason, he wasn't able to. Ken wanted to speak, but no words were coming out, it felt like time had slowed down, everyone else's movements around the area became slower and slower, that's when the strange man said, "I understand now... your potential is just as great as the man you admire, but... you're still far too young."

Once he said that the man walked past Ken, a few seconds later, everything went back to normal, and Ken was able to move again. Ken looked behind, but the man was no longer there.

After that strange encounter Ken went on with his day but, one thing confused Ken, there weren't as many knights located around the area as there should have been, it may have just been a small thing to notice, but something seemed did seem off.

Ken continued to walk around the city in pursuit of something fun to do. He approached countless merchant's talking to them and hearing about their stories.

Abruptly, Ken's silver eyes latched onto an odd-looking figure. Ken didn't blink a single time when tracking the mysterious figure, and then just like that he saw the man pickpocket gold from a woman that was passing by who was clueless to what just happened. Ken didn't know what he was supposed to do, was he supposed to deal with it by himself or ask for help?

After searching around the area rolling his eyes back and forth, not seeing any guards within the vicinity, there was only one thing he could do. That was to take matters into his own hands.
