"Your Majesty, the Princess is fine, it's just Happy's blood. It was Consort Shu who ordered someone to kick it." Lianhua hurriedly explained.
"Go... call the Imperial Physician." The Empress, hearing Lianhua's words, furrowed her brows, a feeling of helplessness and a tinge of desolation welling up inside her. It was all her fault for being useless, allowing her daughter to be wronged like this.
Lianhua hurried off to call the Imperial Physician.
The Princess clutched Happy tightly, refusing to let go, and cried to the Empress, "Mother, what did Happy do wrong? Why does Consort Shu have to treat Happy this way?"
"No, Happy did nothing wrong." The Empress gently touched the Princess's head, speaking softly.
"Then did I do something wrong to have implicated Happy?" The Princess sobbed, gasping for breath, and asked again.
