"This is the light warrior training grounds. Several have become light guard captains, and a few others have recently put in requests to follow specific quests to enhance their classes." Walker stood in the larger cathedral training ground rented by the cathedral some ways away from the actual cathedral due to space issues.
This was one reason that while building everything within Genesis, larger areas were left open so that people could have the space to build and grow. A training ground like this was a perfect example of how leaving those spaces had provided the nearby training area for the cathedral's guards.
Being able to have their own guards was not a separate force that went against Genesis laws.
The alliance still maintained their laws, however, the guards that trained with the cathedral and for the cathedral were educated in different ways than a city guard would.
