Jin leaned back in his chair in the central meeting hall, feeling a profound sense of relief.
His strategy had been correct. If he had impatiently rushed into Root Headquarters alone after awakening his Mangekyo, Danzo would have immediately executed his parents or used them as human shields. Furthermore, a unilateral assault by a single Uchiha would have branded Jin a missing-nin (rogue ninja), forcing him to abandon his clan and constantly run from Konoha's hunter-nin while trying to protect two civilians. It was an impossible scenario.
Instead, he had chosen the agonizing, calculated path: integrating into the Uchiha political structure, playing the long game with the Radical Faction, and creating a scenario where Danzo 'needed' to use his parents as bait outside the facility.
Jin's Internal Monologue: My methods were cold and detached, prioritizing political maneuvering over immediate emotional reaction. But it was the only statistical probability that guaranteed their survival and maintained my standing in the village. And I could not have executed this final phase without the unified military might of the Uchiha Clan behind me.
Jin stood up, looking at the assembled Elders and elite fighters. He had always viewed the clan as a flawed, sinking ship, stepping in only when necessary (like warning Fugaku during the Nine-Tails attack), but always keeping an emotional distance. Tonight, that changed. The clan had bled to secure his family.
"Thank you," Jin said, his voice carrying genuine emotion, devoid of its usual political polish. "I owe this clan a debt that cannot be repaid with words. My actions going forward will speak for me. I swear to you all: I will carry the Uchiha banner, and I will make this clan untouchable."
The room erupted into supportive murmurs.
Fugaku, standing beside Jin, stepped forward. "Jin, your leadership is undeniable. The clan is united behind you. It is time for you to formally assume the position of Patriarch and Commander of the Military Police Force. We will formalize the transition immediately."
The Elders nodded in unanimous agreement. There was no jealousy, only a pragmatic recognition of Jin's superior strategic mind and overwhelming strength.
However, Jin shook his head.
"No. Not yet," Jin stated firmly. "Assuming the title of Patriarch now would politically isolate the Uchiha too quickly. Fugaku, you must remain the official figurehead for the interim. Let the Hokage continue to believe he can manipulate the clan through you. We will make the official transition only after the current administration is completely dismantled."
The room fell silent, but no one argued. They implicitly trusted his judgment.
Elder Setsuna, the hardline veteran, leaned forward. "Then tell us, Commander. What is our next move?"
Jin gestured for everyone to sit. The hierarchy was clear: Jin sat at the head of the table, Fugaku to his right, followed by the Elders, and then the three-tomoe elites. No two-tomoe Uchiha were present; this was a war council.
"Before we discuss the next phase, we must analyze the current intelligence," Jin began. "In the Forest of Death, I successfully eliminated an entire Anbu Battalion and the majority of Danzo's elite Root operatives. The Hokage's covert military strength has been crippled. Fugaku, Yashiro, report on the Root Headquarters raid."
Gasps rippled through the room. Eliminating an entire Anbu Battalion single-handedly was a feat of mythological proportions.
Yashiro Uchiha spoke up, his voice grim. "The Root facility was lightly guarded, but the interior... it was a slaughterhouse. Danzo's human experimentation labs were vast. We found dozens of missing Konoha shinobi from other clans. They had been mutated and mutilated by Senju cell grafts and poison tests. They begged us to kill them. Fugaku and I granted them mercy."
Fugaku's face was pale, his eyes filled with a cold rage. "The village administration is rotten to its core. Danzo treated our people slightly better only because active Sharingan were valuable experimental assets. That is why so many of our missing members survived long enough to be rescued tonight."
Fugaku took a breath to steady himself. "However, the material haul was staggering. We looted Danzo's black-site vaults. We secured thousands of high-level ninjutsu scrolls, massive stockpiles of explosive tags and weaponry, and a massive fortune in untraceable currency. The exact accounting is still ongoing."
Jin's eyes lit up.
Jin's Internal Monologue: The Uchiha Clan is ancient and prestigious, but Konoha's economic sanctions and systemic isolation have severely depleted our financial reserves. This influx of black-market capital and military supplies solves our immediate logistical problems. I don't need to waste time developing commercial enterprises when the Hokage's own black-ops budget just funded our revolution.
"Excellent," Jin said. "Prioritize categorizing the ninjutsu scrolls and weapon stockpiles. Furthermore, secure Danzo's mission ledgers and blackmail files. Those documents are political nuclear weapons. If the other noble clans learn what Danzo was doing to their missing shinobi, the Hokage will lose the village's support overnight."
Jin leaned back, his mind already formulating the next psychological strike.
"We will not act overtly against the Hokage yet. Let him panic. With the Military Police Force on strike, crime is rising, and the Anbu are stretched thin trying to cover our duties. Public opinion will turn against the Hokage's inability to maintain order. Time is our greatest weapon."
Jin paused, a sharp smirk crossing his face. "However, we shouldn't remain entirely idle while we wait. There is a loose end in the village that needs to be addressed. It is time we sever another one of the Hokage's valuable assets."
"Kakashi Hatake."
