"The final bells… will you be okay Alanor?" Cassius Junior asked as he looked at his friend worriedly.
They all knew what the least bells meant and they knew how hard it was going to get for Alanor. He wanted to ensure his friend wouldn't explode here, and even if he did, Cassius wanted to be there for him.
Hell, he was more than ready to take the blame for anything Alanor did in his current state.
"I… Yeah… I gotta go," Alanor said before he disappeared and went to the high priest's castle. He wanted more time to say goodbye.
He wanted to say something, anything, and how that Criselda would come back, but he knew that was not going to work for him. So he just wanted to go and be there when the final rites were being performed.
He needed to be there, because he needed more than closure. He needed to validate the human monster he would become after this and the only way to do that was to see Cris one more time.
