Chapter 23 - Star Wars: A Second Hope

Tommy Oliver:

"Starkiller," I start, looking at the small stone I placed down. Dropping to one of my knees, I put my hand on it. "You are one with the force now. You, and the others."

I turn to and look at Commander Juno Eclipse and General Rahm Kota. Reaching into my pocket, I pull out the lightsabers of the General and of Starkiller. Holding the three lightsabers with as much respect and honor as I can muster, I gently lay the three badges down on their graves.

"Don't worry," I say with a small laugh. "I didn't forget to get something for you."

Pulling out two things, a small golden medal and the remote control for the Rogue Shadow spaceship, I gently lay the medal on Commander Eclipse's resting place. Sighing, as Commander Eclipse looks back at me, I cover my eyes and rub my face.

"I'm sorry, but I hope you don't mind me holding onto this."

I hold up the remote control.

"I think I might still need this."

Nodding and standing up, I look up and around.

"The Jedi Temple. Once, a grand place. The headquarters of the Jedi Order, the training center for younglings and Padawans, and even holders of all Jedi knowledge and artifacts."

Closing my eyes, taking a moment to remember this place and its people, I stop when I hear footsteps approaching me. Judging from the sound, it is without a doubt stormtroopers. Listening to the footsteps, I then feel the barrel of his blaster rifle.

"Freeze," the stormtrooper says. "This is Imperial ground. You are trepassin--Ahhhh!"

Shooting out both my hands, my lightsabers shoot out. Burning hot beams of red burst out from the hilts. Spinning them in my hands, I step back and impale the stormtrooper, the trooper screaming as he falls to the ground. Slowly turning around, my sunglasses baking in the red glow of my dual sabers, I see more stormtroopers approaching me. Whether they're armed with blaster rifles, staffs, or flamethrowers, I spin my sabers in my hands before running forward.

Shooting out my hand, I grab a stormtrooper with the force and pull him forward. Swinging my saber, I cut the trooper in half before shooting out my hand again. Bolts of lightning are unleashed, hitting more stormtroopers and even some jetpack troopers. While the regular troopers are killed, a few jetpack troopers remain. Grabbing one of them with the force, I pull the jetpack trooper close before throwing one of my sabers. My saber spins through the air. It hits a jetpack trooper, impaling him, before the trooper falls to the floor, and my saber returns to my hand. Quickly finishing the last of the stormtroopers, kicking his leg and knocking him to his knee before stabbing him through the chest, I pull my lightsaber out.

"That is for Starkiller," I say, kicking the last stormtrooper's staff away. As I walk away, I hear a beeping. Dropping to my knee and grabbing the trooper's arm, I tap a button and listen to his message.

"Attention all stormtroopers," the message starts. "The rebel ship had been captured, but two droids, one R2 unit and one protocol C3PO unit, escaped with the code. Our spies have tracked them down to the planet, Tatooine. All nearby stormtroopers are instructed to find them immediately."

"Tatooine, huh? Thanks."

Throwing down the dead trooper's hand, I run through the abandoned temple and onto the landing dock. Pulling out the remote control, I click the button and the Rouge Shadow's door lowers open. Jumping into the pilot seat, I activate all the switches before slamming the steering wheel down. Shooting through the air and into space, I begin the countdown.

"Initiating hyperdrive in 3, 2, 1. Initiate!"

All of the stars and planets disappear, turning into blurs as the Rogue Shadow shoots through space and toward the desert planet. Approaching the sandy planet, now entering the atmosphere, I push another button.

"Proxy-2. Are you there?"

"I am here," Proxy-2 answers.

"Proxy-2, I need you to do a quick scan for all drones in the immediate area. Focus primarily on any R2 and protocol drones."

A few seconds later, Proxy-2 answers.

"Sir, I just did a full scan of all droids in the area, focusing primarily on R2 and protocol drones. The numbers are not appearing...favorable."

"Just give it to me straight."

"In the area alone, there are 647,232 drones in total. Roughly 246,394 belong to R2 and protocl drones."

"Please bring up a map."

A tiny projection lowers itself and shows a map of the area. Unfortunately, the whole map is covered in red dots.

"That's not helpful," I say. Looking closely at the map, I notice that most of the drones are in one area.

"Proxy-2, what is that area?"

"According to the record, that is the city of Mos Eisley. It is a spaceport city, filled with smugglers, bounty hunters, and other criminals."

"Spaceport," I repeat. "Sounds like the kind of place two drones with important information would go for a lift. Proxy-2, take control of the Rouge Shadow."

"Understood."

Flying directly over the city, the door lowered itself again. I jump out, flipping through the air before landing directly onto a dirt-made building. Dressed in a raggy hood, ruined shirt, and sandy pants, I raise my hand and push the button on my wrist communicator.

"Proxy-2, can you hear me?"

"I can hear you, sir."

"Keep the Rogue Shadow in the air. Once I find these drones, we'll need a fast pick-up. Keep tracking my communicator."

As I keep talking, I see two stormtroopers walking among the crowds.

"Also, prepare the weapons. Just in case."

"Understood."

Lowering my hand, I take a step but stop almost immediately. A sudden and powerful disturbance hits me like a bus. It almost knocks me off my feet, but I still catch myself. Shaking the headache away, I look over the ledge and see him also among the crowd.

Dressed in a black hood and cape, he must have sensed me, too. Stopping and looking up, I look into the cold, dead eyes of Starkiller's clone. We look at each other before walking side by side. While the clone pushes his way through the crowd, I jump from building to building. We keep moving until I see a building with a hole in the roof. Jumping through the hole and into the building, I land in a space. Hearing a sound, I watch as the item door is blown off its hinges. The clone walks into the building with me. As he enters, he pulls out his lightsaber, and a red beam shoots out. Walking toward me, I walk toward him and pull out my dual lightsabers, with similar red beams shooting out. Walking right up to each other, I scream as I raise my lightsabers and slam them down.

"Aahhh!"

The clone raises his lightsaber and blocks my swing. He steps back and rushes forward, pushing himself forward with the force. Turning into a blur, the clone goes for another swing, but I shoot out my hand. Throwing a force push, I knock the clone back before rushing forward myself.

Jumping, spinning, and swinging my sabers, I start to scream.

"This is for General Kota," I yell. As the clone blocks one of my swings, I punch him in the side, stunning him before jumping and hitting him with my knee.

As the clone hits the wall, he shoots out both his hands and summons lightning bolts. Flipping my sabers over, I shoot out my hands and summon my own lightning bolts. My bolts shoot through the clone and electrocute him.

"This is for Commander Eclipse!"

Still trapped in my lightning bolts, I use the force to pick him up and throw the clone into the wall again. The clone, holding his side, tries to push himself up, but before he can, I jump and flip through the air. With one swift movement, I slam my red lightsaber down, ending the clone.

"And that is for Starkiller," I say, "You may be his clone, but you are no Starkiller."

As the clone's lightsaber falls to the ground, I pick it up and pocket it. Leaving through the doorframe, I hear beeping and raise my wrist.

"Proxy-2, what is it?"

"I am picking up two additional signals," Proxy-2 answers. "One R2 and one procotal drone. Traveling side-by-side."

"That must be it! Proxy-2, where are these two!"

"They are leaving now."

"Leaving?"

Stopping, my feet skidding against the sand, I look up and see a large, round spaceship rising into the air. Thrusters in the back activate, shooting flames into the air as the ship disappears into space.

"Proxy-2, quickly! Scan that ship. What's its name? Who's the pilot?"

"Records show that the ship is called the Millennium Falcon, and its pilot is Han Solo."

I sigh and shake my head.

"Proxy-2, pick me now. We'll follow that ship."

"Understood."

Ben Kenobi:

Raising my head, I turn and look back at Tatooine as we leave the planet and head to rescue Princess Leia.

"What is it?" Luke Skywalker asks.

"I sensed...something," I answer, still looking at the sandy planet far below.

"Something? What is it?"

"I sensed an old friend."
