Rex tilted his head, confused.
It seemed like Lilliana had something to say to him.
"No… Nothing." She shook her head and smiled faintly. "It's noth—"
Blood burst from Lilliana's mouth.
Rex and Davina were taken aback by what they were seeing. She looked completely fine a second ago, but then suddenly, she vomited blood like she was being stabbed through her chest, and then fell to one knee weakly.
"What's wrong?" Davina quickly came to her sister's side. "Did you push yourself too much?"
Behind, Rex had already scanned Lilliana with the System.
He also thought the same thing as Davina, that Lilliana had pushed herself too much.
Absorbing two souls with Demigod-level power must be pretty straining to do—even though it was her bloodline's specialty. Or perhaps her skills have a severe drawback, which would not be a surprise—as she was able to go toe-to-toe with the creatures earlier despite the gap in divinity.
But that wasn't the case at all.
