"Well, with all that being said, I suppose I do not need the Blood God's Manual from you," the Sky God said. "That does not mean that the others won't come looking for it. The report I received claims that a sea of crimson beasts appeared in the sky above the city where you and my soldier fought. That sort of news travels quickly, and it is not impossible that the Blood God will come looking for it."
Alex supposed that was true. "In that case, I will try not to use my blood beasts as much as I can. And in the meanwhile, if the Blood God does catch on to the fact that I do have the book, I will simply claim that I returned it to you along with everything else. That will, of course, be the last thing I do when I don't see a way out."
The Sky God shrugged. "That works for me. Then, moving on to the Alchemy God's book, will you not return it to me either?"
