Chapter 4 - The Son of Poseidon

As Alexander flew away, he suddenly straightened up and just stayed in his position to enjoy the starry sky. There was a hint on orange breaking through the horizon. The young looking Immortal just enjoyed the sun rise for a moment before going in that direction.

Alexander is without a doubt powerful enough to be a seemingly omniscient being, at least in this solar system. He didn't even really need to have a talk to Artemis and her hunters, he could have just read their minds or trace back the strings of fate and know everything about them. He could do the same with all the earth's inhabitants and know exactly what has happened, is happened and predict what will happen as easily as breathing.

But where is the fun in that? What use is life if you know everything it has to offer? So, he usually restricts himself to get the most fun out of everyplace he visits. The only things he has no control over is his regeneration. He has already weakened his defense through rune formation engraved on his body, but any wounds regenerate as quickly as they appear, as well as stamina.

When he was with the hunters, he didn't fight back because when he first scanned their souls, he didn't find them 'evil', as in they were relatively pure. If they weren't, they would have dies after the first arrow was let loose. He also didn't dig too deep into their souls, he only saw enough to deduce that and then didn't look back.

Anyway, he flew leisurely as he enjoyed the scenery for awhile before finally spotting a city. He flew a bit closer before tucking his wings back into his back mid-air. Immediately, gravity took hold as he did a few flips in the air before landing on a road heading towards the city.

He began walking towards the city at a moderate pace, humming to himself a strange tune. He was actually still a few hours away from the city itself, but it's not like he has anything urgent he has to do. He didn't lie to Artemis when he said he wanted to have fun.

*VROOOM*

As he walked towards the city, he heard the sound of an engine coming from in front of him. He didn't really mind and continued humming to himself as he spotted the a yellow car coming his way. He could see a women with long brown hair with a few streaks of grey. Her face didn't have many wrinkles, and she was moderately good looking. Next to her, in the passenger seat was a 12 year old boy with jet black hair and sea green eyes.

Alexander was surprised because he could feel a trace of divinity coming from the boy. It wasn't powerful by any means, but it was their.

'Interesting...' He thought with a small smile before deciding to ignore them and keep on his way.

Unfortunately, the woman had other ideas and slowed the car to a stop next to him.

Alexander turned to face the window as it went down. This wasn't the first world he went to with cars. but the other natives didn't have the habit of stopping for strangers.

"Hello there. You doing okay here sir? Need a lift?" The woman asked kindly, while the boy just looked tired.

"Hm... depends. Where you headed miss...?" He left the end a question.

"My names Sally Jackson. This is my son Percy. we're going to our cabin at a beach not far from here." She answered.

"I'm Alexander, nice to meet you. A beach, huh... Sure, as long as you don't mind, can I join you?"

Sally looked slightly surprised. This weirdly dressed man wanted to join them on their trip... in the opposite direction he was walking in. Percy also looked slightly flabbergasted. This was supposed to be a trip with him and his mom, yet somehow, they picked up a straggler.

"Sure, hop in the back...?" She said more a question than confirmation. She expected him to want to go to the city, not tag along with them, but her personality wouldn't allow her to say no to such a polite young man. Although Alexander was older than her great times something grandfather, he looked as old as a 16-17 year old. If the blindfold wasn't covering most of his face, his eyes would make him seem 19-20.

"Great! Just give me a moment." He said as he moved his hands skillfully, turning his long white hair into a neat bun. He lifted his left hand and opened a small portal in his sleeve, hiding it from the mother and son pair. He reached his right hand into his left sleeve, right through the portal and pulled out a small circular headpiece that looked like a white dragon head with an open jaw and a small white dull needle going through it.

"Done!" He said as he pulled out the needle and put the hair accessory on and inserted the needle back in.

Anyone who sees him would think he was cosplaying. He hopped in the backseat and closed the door behind with a smile. The mother-son pair were still shocked at how long his hair was. They thought it was a wig for a costume or something, but the way he collected it into a bun suggested otherwise.

"That was your real hair?" The boy blurted out before he could stop himself.

"Percy Jackson, that's not nice!" Sally immediately scolded, though she too almost couldn't hold the question in.

"Haha, don't worry about it, miss Jackson. Yes, Percy, this is my real hair. Abnormal color, isn't it?" Alexander said with a smirk as the car started moving again.

"Ah, Alexander, I didn't catch your last name. Also could you tell me why such a young man like yourself is out here all alone?"

"My full name, huh... I don't remember the last time someone asked. It's Alexander Silverscale. And I was just on a walk."

Although Sally was curious as to why no one asked him for his full name before, she couldn't dwell on that question as she almost rammed into an incoming car from the second part.

'You go on walks in the middle of the highway?!' Both she and Percy thought at the same time.

The trio continued to chat as the car kept going on its way. They all got to know each other and started laughing as they made jokes along the way. Any outsider would say that it was just a nice family three with the mom driving the brother on their way to enjoy their summer vacation.

Alexander found out they are going to a region called Montauk. They were heading to a small wood cabin that they rented for vacations when they had the time. They even shared some blue candy with him on the way, which he found both strange and fun.

"Why is all the candy blue?" He asked curiously before noticing the atmosphere in the car become a little gloomy.

He was confused at how a seemingly not important question could have such an impact on the cheerful mood the conversation had made for them. A moment later, Percy answered.

"My mom and my step-dad had an argument awhile back. He said there was no such thing as blue food, and my mom has been proving him wrong ever since." He sounded a bit sour when he said 'step-dad', but his voice had a tinge of pride when he said Sally was proving him wrong even after all this time.

Alexander immediately picked up on the fact that this 'step-dad' wasn't exactly on their good side, but it wasn't really his place to say anything about their family matter, so he shifted the conversation skillfully and the cheerful mood immediately returned until they reached the beach and stopped near the cabin.
