"It means," Gabriel answered, frustration sharpening every word, "I just found out that people connected to the families the Arnauds fought years ago have somehow wormed their way into my company."
His jaw tightened.
"And they're trying like hell to push me out!"
"What?" Adrian breathed, disbelief written plainly across his face.
Gabriel turned sharply toward Clyde.
"That's why I told you I want Hawk Tech out of the project while I still can!" he exclaimed. "This quiet hostile takeover is shady as hell. None of it sits right with me. And if I can't regain control..."
He stopped for a heartbeat, his jaw tightening.
"God help me, I'll tear Hawk Tech down with my own hands before I let them use it."
"Easy," Clyde said, giving Gabriel's shoulder a reassuring pat. "We'll figure that out."
He then turned to Logan.
"Have you heard anything? Anything at all?"
