Clyde stopped.
Adrian briefly glanced at Gabriel, silently asking him to trust him, before returning his attention to Clyde.
"Gabriel should step down."
Gabriel's eyes widened.
"But not willingly."
The three of them stared at him.
"It has to look like they finally succeeded." His voice remained calm as he added, "If Gabriel suddenly resigns in the middle of the fight, they'll wonder why. They'll suspect you've uncovered something."
He shook his head.
"Let them believe they're winning. Make them think they've forced him out. Only then will they lower their guard."
"Okay. Sounds good enough for me," Clyde replied with a firm nod.
Yet for some reason, he couldn't shake the feeling that something about this conversation felt... unnatural.
It wasn't Adrian's advice itself. In fact, everything he had said made perfect sense.
