Before Ryley could answer, a knock echoed from the door, cutting the conversation short.
"I'll send you the time and place for the playdate later," Adrian said hurriedly. "See you."
"Adri—"
The line went dead before Ryley could get another word in.
He lowered the phone with a faint frown before gesturing for Mitchell to answer the door.
A servant stepped inside and bowed respectfully.
"Your Highness, the Sovereign requests your presence in the Main Chamber."
Ryley blinked. Mitchell also wore the same puzzled expression.
"Please inform His Majesty that His Highness will be there shortly," Mitchell replied before escorting the servant back outside. The door clicked shut behind them.
He turned to Ryley.
"I thought you said the Sovereign wasn't seeing anyone tonight," Ryley said.
"That's what I was told," Mitchell answered, his brows knitting together. "Perhaps he changed his mind." He glanced toward the wardrobe. "Would you like to change first?"
