Chapter 28 - * Pawn in the Game of Chess:

Sinyster was in an internal turmoil of dread, fear, regret and anger. She feared what Vishious might do to Payne because of her recent selfish actions and decision that she had made tonight.

Sinister wasn't sure how much time had passed since Vishious and Malice had left the dining hall or how long she had been crying, it felt like forever to her as she sat there in absolute fear of what the consequences for what she had done were going to be and what it would cost her.

Meanwhile, Slayer was still sitting in front of her, growing rather impatient with her as time went on. He leaned forward, putting both of his hands on either side of her shoulders and shook her a little to get her attention.

Sinister looked up at Slayer, obviously startled by Slayers aggressive approach.

Her eyes were red and swollen and her tear streaked face, made her look so vulnerable at this moment. But, Slayer needed her to hurry up and start talking to him about what was going on if she wanted him to help her out in any way.

"You need to hurry up and start talking!" Slayer ordered her in a rather short, frustrated growl. He didn't like having to go about things with her like this but there wasn't time to keep wasting. "You need to quit stalling on shit and get a hold of yourself! Start talking, Sinyster!"

Sinyster looked down, not able to keep eye contact with Slayer's Red eyes that seemed to look into her very soul.

She tried calming her nerves to be able to tell Slayer what it was that she knew so far and what had happened up til now.

She took a deep breath before she started to try and find the words to start explaining everything that transpired in the last few months with their brother Vishious.

"Ok, well the only way I can get this to all make sense, I'll have to first tell you what it is that I know so far concerning our brother Vishious and then tell you what it is that I've been doing since the last time you saw me" Sinyster started explaining in a very quiet voice as she spoke.

This confused Slayer but he decided to just listen to what Sinyster had to say and if necessary he would then interrupt. But, first they needed to go somewhere else to talk about things, Slayer didn't trust anyone and didn't want to take the chance of someone listening in on what they were going to be talking about.

"Wait just a second before you start," Slayer quickly said. He then leaned forward and grabbed Sinyster's hand and in a blink of an eye, they disappeared from the dining hall and appeared suddenly in Slayer's study.

Slayer had to quickly catch Sinyster before she fell to the ground, she wasn't expecting them to teleport and so was caught completely off guard.

"Why didn't you warn me that you were going to do that?" Sinyster said in a weak voice. She then slowly fell to her knees with the help of Slayer, making sure to help her down slowly to the floor. She looked like she was going to be sick.

"Are you okay? I'm sorry for not giving you a heads up so you could prepare yourself to be able to handle the teleportation. I always forget how hard it is on those who aren't able to teleport." Slayer said, shrugging his shoulders a little as he spoke to her.

He then turned and walked over to his desk, grabbing a pitcher of water he had sitting there and poured some into a glass before walking back over to where Sinyster was still sitting on the floor and handing her the glass of water that he had just poured. " Drink it. It'll help with the dizziness that you're feeling." Slayer ordered flatly.

"Ok, Thank you," Sinyster said before drinking the entire glass in one drink. She then handed the empty glass back to Slayer who was still standing over her. He went and set it down on his desk before he turned back to face her, leaning his back against his desk, folding his arms in front of his chest.

"Are you feeling any better now?" Slayer asked, letting her know that if she was feeling better he was waiting for her to start talking again.

"Yes, I feel better now, thank you," Sinyster answered.

"Would you like a chair to sit on?" Slayer offered in a bland tone.

"No, thank you, I'm quite comfortable sitting on the floor actually." Sinyster said as she shifted herself a little, getting herself more comfortable.

"As you wish," Is all Slayer said in return. Not being able to hold back a small smile that came to his lips. He always liked how his sister always liked the simple things in life and was different than others when it came to her mannerisms.

For a moment silence filled the room, as Slayer stood there waiting for Sinyster to start talking and Sinyster sat there thinking about where she should start.

She finally broke the silence by saying, "As you already know I can't control my Merwitch form and I have the ability to control the soulless walking dead to a certain extent; but it comes with a terrible price." Sinyster hugged her knees to her chest as she said this. Her voice was quiet and cautious as she began talking to Slayer in the study.

She had a timid, frightened look now as she continued saying, "When I turn them into soulless puppets, I have to suck their souls out of them." She informed Slayer. She than continued on saying, " And that's how I'm able to control them for a time, once I kill them. Which in doing so this takes quite a toll on me if I do it for a extended amount of time, as it starts damaging my own soul. I'm still uncertain exactly what Vishious really wants but one thing is for sure and that's whatever it is he needs or wants from me, he needs me to be in my Merwitch form. I believe it has something to do with my ability to use the soulless walking dead. That's the only thing that I can think of that makes any sense."

"Hmmm....I'm either missing something or you're not telling me everything?" Slayer deadpanned. The expression he held on his face looked bored and unconvinced as he stood there staring down at her.

Sinyster looked up at him and nodded. " Well, like I said that is the only thing that I've been able to think of that makes sense in him having anything to do with me."

Slayers expression darkened and his arms that he still had folded in front of his chest dropped down to push himself up from his desk he had been leaning on. He then walked over to stand directly in front of her, now towering over Sinyster where she still sat on the floor, he looked down at her saying, " What's going on with you, sister? I mean What you said, yes, would in fact make sense if one didn't know damn well that Vishious is from the Realm of the Dead and he wouldn't have any use of your abilities when it comes to the dead. Also, you had mentioned earlier that you may have just killed the one who means the most to you? Who are you preferring to?" Slayer asked.

The way Slayer looked and now stood directly over her, made Sinyster to shrink back from him in fear, thinking that what she had just said made him upset with her.

Realizing she had misunderstood his reaction, Slayer quickly corrected himself to Sinyster.

"I'm not angry with you, but damn it! You need to start telling me what the hell is really going on and quickly because not only am I running out of patience with this, but if you want or need my help then this could very well be your only chance to fill me in on what's going on. And I don't know if it's slipped your mind but whatever Vishious is involved in, then not only him but also Wycked you'll have to worry about as well." The frown on his face said it all, Slayer was worried for his sister.
