While Alex is being guided towards the Datu's house, Elijah followed Sparrow, who won the competition, towards their very own blacksmith.
'Of course there's a blacksmith here, how the hell are these tribe's men supposed to be getting their weapons made' Elijah said internally.
The idea of there being a blacksmith completely passed over everyone's head as these people seemed primitive, but they remembered that this is a world of magic, so anything is possible.
It only took an hour of walking for Sparrow and the mentor to reach the smith, the smith is located inside a cave, and he could see a hole at the top with smoke coming out.
"Narra hard as steel its me, Rosella who flies with elegance," Rosella knocked on the door, and a few clanging metal sounds later, the door opened and a heavily bearded man greeted them.
'Wow, its a real blacksmith!' Elijah thought as he moved towards one of the windows while Rosella and Sparrow went inside the cave.
Narra guided Rosella and Sparrow through his place, "Sorry for the mess lads, I was in the middle of somethin'," Narra said.
"No worries Narra, anyway this is our winner right here from our little competition," Rosella explained.
"Ah, so yer done already, ya know you could've gone tomorrow instead, since its already dark out there," Narra said as he picked up a hammer and started tampering a red-hot steel.
"Thank your for your concerns Narra but we could handle ourselves," Rosella said respectfully.
"Alright alright, I won't bother you with that," Narra said to Rosella as he turned to face Sparrow, "So lad, what do you want as your reward? I'll make it as quickly as possible."
Sparrow then described the item he wants is a sword, with specific length, width and other esthetic stuff.
Narra meanwhile draw Sparrows sword with a quill and some paper, or rather very thin slices of wood, and after a few minutes of describing what he wants, Narra showed the drawing.
The sword Sparrow wants looks like a Kris, complete with its wave-like design and even some engraving of his name on the blade.
"Alright lad, give me a few days and I'll get it done, I'll just get Rosella here to give it to you," Narra said as he started going through his metal supply trying to find the best metal.
"Thank you Narra, and sorry for the trouble," Rosella said.
"No worries, I'll call you when I'm done here," Narra said as he continued to search for the ideal metal.
Once Narra found the ideal metal he began forging immediately and it continued through out the night...
-A few hours back-
As Alex is being led towards the Datu's house, he quickly asked about what this is about.
"Its about that beast you caught, they are called Thunder Beasts," the mentor answered.
"Thunder Beasts?" Alex said in a confused tone.
"They are called Thunder Beast because they could use some sort of lightning magic and would create a loud sound similar to thunder, and before you even notice it, your dead already, we only know that someone died because of the louds sound," The mentor explained.
'So that's why they looked surprised when they saw my catch." Alex thought.
"They mysteriously appeared about 600 years ago according to our records, and they have been running rampant ever since," The mentor continued.
They walked the rest of the way without speaking and after Alex knew it, they were at the Datu's house.
The mentor knocked on the door and announced "Datu Storm, I am Leaf that Dances with the Winds, I have come to report an urgent matter."
"Come in." Datu said and both Alex and Leaf walked inside.
"Ah, Alex right? And what are you doing here with Leaf?" Datu asked.
"Datu, this apprentice has caught a Thunder Beast," Leaf explained with a serious expression.
"What?!"
"If there's already a thunder beast here that means more are coming."
"But isn't this too early? but its only been 7 years!"
The Elders exclaimed and then they start murmuring to each other. Datu then raised his hand and the elders stopped talking but still tensed by the situation.
"Go on," Datu said.
"Go on, explain where you caught it and what it was doing before then." Leaf said to Alex.
Alex then explained the whole situation and how he killed it with a lucky shot before it sensed him, obviously lying on the second half.
Datu looked at Leaf who nodded in agreement, confirming Alex's story. Although he didn't say it, he was actually late to the scene, Leaf arrived after Elijah left because he is also watching over another apprentice.
"Thank you for the report, I'm glad no one is hurt," Datu said, "You can leave now, I will talk about it with the elders," Datu added.
Leaf bowed and Alex followed. Quickly, Leaf sent Alex back to his hut and they both went their own way.
-Inside the Datu's hut-
"This is bad, we must inform the other tribes," An Elder said.
"Agreed, if there's already a Thunder Beast out there, a group of them would follow suit soon," Another Elder added.
The Elders talked amongst themselves until Datu Storm said.
"The full moon is only four days away, we can wait until then," Datu said and the meeting is adjurned.
... ...
