Chapter 55 - The Great Oak

The gang went to the healer's hut after convincing the guard, who didn't allow them outside, to just go with them to ensure they don't run off.

And the moment they got there, they are immediately ordered by grandma Crane to help Joana and Calendula with sorting herbs, along with a couple apprentices who went and gathered more herbs with Calen.

-The Great Oak-

The Great Oak, a massive oak tree that has a diameter of at least 90 meters at the base with its canopy being more that 130 meters high and span at great lengths that one couldn't see the other end if they stood at the edge of its shade during sun high.

Its the hallmark of all the Tribes' legacy.

It was said that it has been planted during the full moons by the Tribe of Blinding Light and Tribe of Devouring Dark since time immemorial to commemorate the end of their thousand-year war with each other and as a sign of peace.

Thus marking the beginning of an era of peace and healing as the lands were devastated by their colossal clash.

During the era of Light and Dark, most of their warriors were magic wielders. Both tribes used so much magic that it poisoned the earth and no life could exist inside the barren battlefield, except for both tribes who was the cause of the magic overload in the lands.

Thus both sides has a big part to play.

The tribe of Dark gathered all remnant of magic that corroded the lands while the tribe of Light purified it and infused pure magic back into the earth and water, bringing life back into it.

The process took a long time, centuries worth of devastation being mended as both tribes worked hand in hand, soon forgetting the differences they once fought over and discovered that they could achieve more if they help one another.

And so the Archipelago was created.

Datu Storm recollected the tale he was told when he was still an apprentice as they neared the Great Oak. Finch who is beside Storm spotted someone on the branches, "Datu, Pine is on the Great Oak." Finch said.

Storm looked up and sure enough, Pine could be seen on top of a tree along with other figures.

"Let's hurry up." Storm nodded and began jumping from tree to tree at a faster pace. The other warriors followed suit.

Soon they arrived at the roots of the Great Oak.

Along with Pine are warriors who's very presence oozes confidence and pride, a large contrast to the warriors of winds that has an aura of mystery and secrecy.

This is the the Tribe of Raging Fire; warriors known for their ferocity and brutality in battle.

Its often seen as barbaric compared to the other tribes as even when picking a Datu, the one with the biggest muscle gets to lead the tribe. so their leader often changes once every moons or so.

For all the reputation they have though, they do have one key principle that keeps them from destroying themselves; The strong protect the weak, while the weak serve the strong.

Even though strength is everything to them, they also acknowledge that there is strength in numbers and unity.

For no matter how great a warrior may be, they are not invincible. And that is the very philosophy that glues them together.

Storm went straight for their leader, a big woman with well-toned muscles screaming of power along with her sleek black hair that has shades of crimson tied in a ponytail.

"Datu Shula." Storm greeted. "The Bringer of Winds greets the Warden of Fire." Storm Bowed.

"Datu Storm." Datu Shula nodded. "The Warden of Fire greets the Bringer of Winds." She said in return as she also Bowed.

After the formalities, they returned to their respective tribes as to be honest, they aren't in the best of terms right now.

The Tribe of Fire is hunting dangerously close the border of the Tribe of Winds. So fights break out every now and then as both sides claim prey to be theirs.

That, however, didn't stop the other warriors from mingling with each other though as even Finch, Storm's envoy and second in command greeted Plamen, Shula's envoy.

They were still allies when the event calls for it.

As they talked, the Tribe of Rushing Water and Tribe of Quaking Earth arrived together with their datus; Dagat as calm as the Sea and Tlaloc Sturdier than Earth.

Storm that Brings the Winds

Shula who's Fiercer than Fire

Dagat as Calm as the Sea

Tlaloc Sturdier than Earth

With the four datus together, the gathering can now begin.
