This made it difficult to speak while wearing it. She was known in the castle of the fallen woman, and she slept with every one of the great castles, but it was never for pleasure. It was for matters bigger than just a night spent with someone. She had been doing this for many years to resolve problems between castles. It is said that she is over one hundred years old. This is how dangerous her words were to hear. She could have been the minister, but she refused after learning that the position would limit her power. From the top of the tower, she looked down at Babylon, who knew Ethan's warning well: "Don't go near her on your first day in the castle." This seemed impossible after seeing her looking at her like that. The mermaid approached to stop her, feeling her heart tremble. She leaned closer and whispered in her ear, "What are you doing?" Babylon looked at her silently, a look of confidence in her eyes. The minister stood up, brushing the dust from his robes. "It seems you've found my guardian angel today."
He smiled at the prince and turned, heading towards the silver mask behind him, who continued walking with him towards the tower. "Have you discovered his identity?" He revealed the arm he carried. "He wore this emblem, leaving no doubt that he belongs to the Ravens." The minister looked at the farmers. "I want the temple members before me tonight in the temple." He glanced at his gauntlet. "I don't want the body on the castle grounds."
He stood before the tower where the other silver mask had been positioned. "I want to know everything about this girl." She looked beside her at one of the female soldiers, who then followed the prince, who moved to show Babylin her new location in the castle. The minister looked at her. "And I want all three of you in the temple tonight." Then, looking at the body being carried out of the castle, he said, "We must finish off all the agents present in the temple today." Thomas followed the minister after seeing the corpse's arms. The minister entered a large hall and from there proceeded to the temple, renowned throughout the south as one of the largest in the kingdom. He entered and ordered everyone to leave except for one man standing by a giant door on the side. "Have you prepared food for him tonight?" "No, sir, we haven't yet."
"Very well, don't until nightfall." The guard looked at him. "But sir..." Then he looked at the minister's face, which was now contorted with anger. Silence fell for several minutes as the minister gazed at the enormous door. He approached it, touching its raised carvings of tiny scorpions, and heard the clinking of chains from behind the door.
The minister extended his hand to the guard, giving him the keys to open the door and ordering him to turn the gear. The guard looked at him. "Sir, I cannot open it alone." "Very well, then what are you waiting for?" He went and brought two more men who turned the gear, which raised the door. Thomas watched as the door rose, releasing a blast of hot air that was accompanied by a scream.
