Capaldi
Late Night
The Al'Xander Mansion slept under a sky of quiet silver stars.
Beyond its tall iron gates and towering marble walls, the city of Capaldi breathed with its usual restless energy, hover vehicles gliding across illuminated sky lanes, distant music echoing from night districts, and the faint glow of neon towers reaching toward the dark heavens.
But inside the mansion, the night felt still.
Almost sacred.
Lena slept peacefully in the her room that had long ago become her own space in the house. The heavy velvet curtains were drawn halfway, allowing soft moonlight to spill into the room like pale water.
She lay curled beneath the blankets, her breathing soft and even.
The wounds on her shoulders had healed faster than any normal injury should have. The strange medicine Gibbs had injected earlier had done its work again.
Still, faint shadows remained on her skin.
Marks that refused to disappear completely.
