After my last words, Sukrucuk's temper cooled down a bit, and he was trying to calm down, even if it was difficult for him.
"Big Bro, this stuff can't be done alone anyway. Look, you have me by your side. My skill is Unstoppable Fist!"
I realized I made a mistake by revealing my skill the moment the man's face turned red again, and I immediately tried to smooth things over.
"I punched someone, and because of the events that followed, I fell here. Divine providence saw it fit this way, it wouldn't be right to rebel!"
I figured Sukrucuk must be a man of faith since he ended up in this state because of a single sin. My intention was to calm him down by tying what happened to him to destiny.
"You're right, one shouldn't force some things too much. So tell me, what are we going to do from now on?"
My partner was warming up to the idea. I was going to slowly instill the online game mechanics he didn't know into him.
"Look, Big Bro, the skill says 'while active', meaning you'll use this when you want to, and when you don't, you'll just punch the enemy right in the mouth normally."
"Does this mean I won't be like this all the time?"
"Exactly, Big Bro. When you form a party, you'll be the tank. We'll get you armor, a shield, and stuff. Then you'll do a lot of work with this skill!"
"A party will be formed, and I'll be a tank!"
It was clear from his tone of voice and the emphatic exclamation at the end of his sentence that Sukrucuk hadn't understood a thing I said.
"No matter how much I explain, it won't be as effective as showing you. The two of us are going to kill these types together, but first, I say we go see some friends who might want to join us."
With Sukrucuk tagging along behind me, we were heading toward one of the people who didn't believe my words. My guess was that since she had probably come to her senses by now, I would find her waiting for me eagerly.
"Big Bro Max, you finally returned!"
The little girl's condition was exactly as I expected. It was obvious she had gone and read the obelisk after our brief conversation.
"What's up? We were just passing by. Were you waiting for me here?"
No free rides. She hadn't used her first chance, and on top of that, she had the audacity to call me a liar. If I immediately caved in, I wouldn't be able to control things later on.
"You're doing this because of what happened earlier, aren't you? I'm so sorry, I won't ever disobey you again!"
As her eyes, resembling two large almonds in contrast to the smallness of her face, started welling up, the little girl spoke, occasionally stuttering. It was clear she had plenty of time to think while Sukrucuk and I were killing the Fallen.
"I'm going to tell you this once. If you don't do what I say for any reason from this moment on, I will leave you and walk away!"
I couldn't bring myself to be too hard on the little one. Even though I spoke in a harsh tone, I knew the reason for this forgiveness was my soft heart.
"Rimel, my girl, this friend is a good guy. He's the one who always told me what to do!"
Before I could even say 'stop, Big Bro,' he suddenly blurted out the name the system had given her to the stubborn girl. Since he didn't know the story behind it, it was impossible for him to predict the consequences.
"Who's Rimel? Is that my name?"
No sooner had she said that than the poor girl burst into tears again. I swear, she had shed more tears today than a main character in a Chinese novel who spits a mouthful of blood every minute.
Time was ticking. If she didn't kill a Fallen soon, we'd only be able to see her again after eight hours.
"Stop crying! Pull yourself together right now, go out there, and kill a monster!"
This was starting to get on my nerves. After locking my eyes on her, I snapped at Rimel with a tone of voice that contained a bit of anger and a bit of a threat.
The girl immediately went silent. Unexpectedly, she had stayed true to the promise she just made. As she walked toward the outside of the shield with tiny steps, she looked at me with eyes pleading for help.
"Calm down, you will only attack the Fallen I point out to you!"
While I was talking, I was also looking for the most suitable mob. Thank goodness, I quickly spotted a little girl wandering around with a liquid lipstick in her hand.
"Now dash over there quickly and smack that little one wandering with the lipstick in her hand a couple of times!"
The command was very simple. She would go, give the girl two smacks on the head, and kill her. But after what I witnessed next, my hopes for the future showed signs of cracking.
After stepping out of the shield, Rimel approached her prey faster than I expected. This definitely created a sense of excitement in me. Just as I was thinking, "I guess she'll handle it easily and come back," I had to watch our girl strike the kid as if she were gently stroking her hair.
"Girl, just smack her already!"
I couldn't hold back and yelled. How was I supposed to know this would backfire? Once Rimel got really flustered, on top of that, didn't the kid strike back despite being knee-high to a grasshopper?
"Smack her already, or else I'll change my route the next time I see you!"
I was turning into a completely irresponsible parent trying to discipline their little kid with threats, all because of Rimel. If it went on like this, we could be one step closer to organizing gold days between parties.
"I'm sorry, sweetie!"
"Smackkk!"
Even if it was difficult, I had managed to get her to slap the little one wandering around sniffing the lipstick. The poor thing had turned into a junkie just trying to record a video.
"Pick up the stuff on the ground and run back here!"
I was yelling to give the next command to Miss Rimel, whom I saw staring blankly.
This time, along with a book and a few copper coins, there was another object glowing with a faint silvery shimmer next to them.
"Big Bro Max, I did it! Look, I'm doing everything you say now!"
The girl, who ran toward me without slowing down after entering the shield, was speaking joyfully before vanishing for her stats to be unlocked.
Apparently, I had gotten myself into big trouble. The real trick was for you to do what you had to do without me needing to tell you. Still, making her first kill was quite easy compared to Sukrucuk, and besides, she had both a book and another item that neither of us had in her hands.
Just as I was thinking, "It feels like I'm reliving the events I went through with Sukrucuk," the sound I was expecting echoed in my mind.
"Goodness points received +5!"
The massive ledger had opened again, and the achievement was written in black letters in the powder blue section. Before I could be startled by my middle-aged partner grabbing my arm, I was enjoying this moment.
"Max, something is happening! A huge ledger just popped out of nowhere!"
Sukrucuk was about to continue in fear when I caught the hand he was pulling me with and quickly cut in.
"Big Bro, calm down, I'll explain everything to you. We're going to wait here for about half an hour; I might as well explain the logic of online games in general to you!"
My intention was to kill two birds with one stone while waiting for Rimel. I explained the basic rules to Sukrucuk slowly and clearly, as if explaining them to a child.
This time, the duration seemed to take longer. I had started suspecting something went wrong when our young lady appeared exactly where she had vanished.
"It took you a long time to come back. Nothing happened to you, right?"
While looking at the girl's pure and sincere smile, I decided to pretend to be interested, even if it was fake.
"No, Big Bro Max. When I saw the shapeless light, I started crying out of fear. Thank goodness they waited for me until I stopped. I am so sorry if I'm late!"
How could you get mad at this now? I didn't press the issue much, but I asked her to tell me her personal stats, which was what I was really curious about.

"Great. Thanks to this, we understand that everyone who makes their first kill starts on equal terms."
Me, Sukrucuk, and Rimel all had the same values. It could be said without needing further proof that these were the base stats.
"Don't wait around, open the book in your hand and read it. It shouldn't be hard for a nerd like you!"
There was no answer to my words, but from her lower lip hanging down, it was obvious the girl didn't like this nickname at all. This time, I didn't check the name of the skill book; after all, I knew something interesting was going to come out.
