Vera Warner was rushing as fast as she could, but she ran into a traffic jam. She couldn't just fly there, so her only option was to beg Ron to give her a little more time.
She had never begged Ron for anything before. Now, he had reduced her to this, and it made Vera Warner furious.
But she had no choice. To save a life, if begging would work, Vera was even prepared to get on her knees.
"I understand what you mean, Brother Ron, but the location you gave me is really far. It's impossible for anyone to get there in an hour."
"So, you're blaming me now? In any case, what I said stands. You have twenty minutes left. If you haven't arrived by then, it's all over."
With that, Ron hung up the phone. He refused to give Vera a moment's grace, leaving her frantic with anxiety.
The drive itself would take more than twenty minutes, and the traffic was backed up for another half hour. 'How am I supposed to get there? Am I supposed to fly?'
