This "Vera," one could say, was playing her part exceptionally well. Whether it was her general conduct or her attitude toward them, she was even more considerate than the real Vera had been.
But this was exactly what made Victor Morgan feel that something was wrong. Vera Warner wasn't a submissive person.
Though she was wonderful to her family, she was also very principled. When Chloe Warner had insisted on leaving the hospital, this woman hadn't tried to stop her at all; she just let her have her way.
And this "Vera's" biggest mistake was trying too hard to please them, especially him. She was focused on one thing and one thing only: getting closer to him, and she didn't care about anything else.
