Alice cradled Claud Laurence's face, "I'm sure... Darling, can you stand by and let me handle the crisis on my own, just once?"

Alice leaned into the chair back, looking worried.
When Aunt PA came in, she saw Alice sighing, placed the coffee on the table, and asked with concern, "Miss, what's wrong?"
Alice sat up straight, sipped the coffee, and said worriedly, "It's still about Uncle Grant and the others."
Aunt PA was puzzled, "Miss, didn't you tell General Laurence?"
Alice put down the coffee in her hand and shook her head, "I didn't ask him to help me."
