"What time is it in Germany?"
"About four thirty in the morning." Sarah sounded distracted as she played with the computer, connecting it to the screen.
I used to think meeting Liam was by chance, but now I know it wasn't.
Liam would call it destiny, but not that either. For whatever reason, Ricky brought us here, risking everything to have me near the territory, but not in it. The question was why.
He didn't want me near this place, but I'd found my way anyway. Some part of me always defied him, and driving around was my way of holding onto what little independence I still had. He probably figured Farmington would be secure if I didn't go into Liam's private land.
Which is what I'd ended up doing.
"Isn't that too early?"
"He's already up. Liam is never comfortable when he's away. He finds it hard to sleep in other people's territory."
"Whose territory is he in?"
