"Shouldn't we stop her?" I heard someone say, but no one did.
I knew what I was doing, even though some thought this had something to do with my heat.
Jessica could've run, but she attacked.
Not as smart as she thinks she is, because I would've stopped if she'd run.
However, I won't say she's helpless because she's not.
The problem is, Jessica's never had to fight to defend herself, and I have.

She got a few hits in, her hands fast enough that I couldn't see her, but she left herself open.
"Bitch!" I screamed as she caught my cheek again, but I stopped her last strike before she got me again.
Both of us were running on adrenaline, hair wild and tangled, and covered in sweat. Whatever civility we had was long gone, but we're losing steam.
The only thing keeping me from collapsing is anger.
