AUTHOR'S POV
Janet looked at the ground. It was less embarrassing to stare at the ground than her adopted sister. Gena's breathing changed, it caught her attention.
"I...took the MSST." Janet revealed, Gena knew what it was. The only test that she wasn't allowed to take according to her parents. Because she would perform sub-par. It was going to be a waste of their savings.
"Did our parents know?" Gena asked,
"No. I worked in a fight club with men, almost exploited everyday, but I made money. 20 grand."
That's what the test, a simple rod immersion in the skull costed. Every rich regime scout went for it. But with 3$ per hour of pay for folks like upper class men and women...20,000$ was a dream of a life time. Not just a test.
Economy was modern exorcism.
"But you had the balls, Janet. I never did." Gena finally said. It was never about strength. It was guts
"She changed you. They all...changed you." Said Janet. Gena's brows crushed. "What do you mean, Janet?"
