Kiara Dillon was taken aback by his sudden question.
"We came looking for you. We asked around, and someone said you were in a meeting. The door was unlocked, so…" She was intimidated by him, her voice trembling.
"Just because the door was unlocked, you thought you could just walk in?" Sebastian Lockwood retorted. "How very well-mannered of you!"
"She wanted to go in just now, too!" Mindy Caldwell suddenly remembered, pointing at Sydney Sawyer. "So we don't have any manners? Does she?"
"She was allowed in because I permitted it. I left my office unlocked specifically for her."
Sebastian Lockwood slowly raised his eyes, giving her a sidelong glance.
"You… what makes you think you can compare yourself to her?"
The way Sebastian Lockwood looked at her, it was as if he were looking at an idiot.
His words stung more than the slap Sydney Sawyer had just given her.
