Sebastian Lockwood and his team had come to Keston for a medical research project, which had just concluded. He was called in on short notice this time because a critically ill patient urgently needed surgery. The hospital had convened an emergency meeting with key personnel from all departments to discuss the surgical plan.
"Lockwood, I know you're on a rare day off, and I really shouldn't have called you. But this patient's situation is unique…" Mr. Chandler smiled at him.
"It's fine." Sebastian Lockwood looked down, flipping through the patient's file. "He's not a patient from our hospital?"
"That's right. He's from out of town and is being transferred. He'll be at our hospital in about three hours. We'll have to operate the moment he arrives. Time is of the essence."
The next few hours were exceptionally tense. Before heading into the operating room, Sebastian Lockwood gave Sydney Sawyer a call.
