Little did Donovan Sheridan know his words would come true. He even made a point to call Sebastian Lockwood at noon to check in.
"So, did she get so excited to see you that she jumped into your arms?"
"You have too much time on your hands?"
"I'm bored. Just at home, petting the cat."
His work in Keston had wrapped up, leaving only some materials to organize, so he had plenty of free time. He just never expected that petting a cat could be so addictive.
"Sebastian Lockwood, you run off on a date while I'm stuck here looking after your cat. How are you going to thank me?"
"To thank you for your selfless sacrifice and your deep concern for others' love lives—which also shows me your own desperation to find a partner—I'll be sure to tell my mom when I get back to Aethelgard. I'll have her set you up on a few more blind dates."
"…"
Donovan Sheridan was just about to start cursing when the call was disconnected!
'What the hell?'
'What kind of person does that?'
