Kevin Chandler had thought admitting guilt would make the man before him let him go. But to his surprise, the man didn't move his foot; instead, he squatted down.
The grinding motion intensified the pain.
The pain wrung another muffled groan from him…
"Where are the photos?" Sebastian Lockwood asked.
Since they were so close and he was speaking in a hushed voice, even Sydney Sawyer and Coco Gordon, who were standing nearest, couldn't hear their conversation.
"Well…"
Kevin Chandler wasn't stupid; he knew what it meant to hand them over.
He mumbled evasively, unwilling to say.
"Hm?" Sebastian Lockwood applied a little more pressure with his foot.
"AARGH—" Another scream of agony!
The man seemed to know exactly where to apply pressure, a spot that could still send jolts of pain through him even as the rest of his hand went numb.
"Give me the photos."
"They're on my phone. If you move your foot, I can get it."
"You have another hand."
"…"
