Sydney Sawyer never thought Kevin Chandler could be so shameless. She was seething with fury.
When Sebastian Lockwood grabbed her arm, she was still red-faced with anger, and a little confused.

"I can handle this. No need for a young lady like you to get your hands dirty," he said, his voice low and close to her ear.

Before she could finish, Sebastian let go of her hand. She currently looked like a kitten with all its fur on end. He reached out and gently patted her head twice.

The sudden head pat made her breath catch.
When she looked up again, Sebastian had already turned and was walking toward the dim, shadowy lights.
