COUGH, COUGH— Sydney Sawyer choked on a piece of watermelon, her face flushing red. Ryder Sharp, who was closer, handed her a tissue and asked in a low voice, "Are you okay?"
Sydney Sawyer shook her head, taking the tissue to wipe her mouth.
Ryder Sharp's expression was as sharp and imposing as ever. He looked at Sebastian Lockwood. "What did you mean by that? Are you trying to kick me out?"
"You living here gets in my way."
"Of doing what?"
"Pursuing a girlfriend."
