Ella Simms seemed to have caught a cold, sniffing and looking listless.
"Mrs. Parker, I want to take a break for a while," Ella murmured, "I don't want to go to City A for now."
Polly Sutton clicked her tongue, wondering how badly the child must have been hurt.
"Alright then," Polly said regretfully, giving up on the idea.
After ending the call with Ella, the young girl sent her a message to apologize for declining Polly's offer.
While replying to the message, Polly said to Grace Yates, "Seems like it's not happening. She's quite hurt."
"Victor Parker's assistant?" Grace recalled vaguely, "It's no surprise since she's caught Victor Parker's eye."
Polly finished editing the message and sent it, looking up at Grace, "You say that, but I'm also favored by Victor Parker, so what?"
Grace didn't respond verbally, but her look said it all: Do you think you're normal?
