Thomas Yates hadn't had much contact with Victor Parker before. He had thought Victor would be a serious, unsmiling person, but hadn't expected him to frequently talk about his wife.
Thomas assigned Jonathan Jones to handle the Backflow Cove issue. He entrusted the early phase of training to Jonathan as it was Jonathan's area of expertise.
After everyone's tasks were clarified, the next steps were discussed between Victor and Thomas. Everyone got busy with their own work.
Once people had left, the main topic Victor and Thomas discussed was the development of the base.
"Should we call it Eagle Isle Two?" Thomas posed a question.
"Why should it be called Eagle Isle?" Victor replied with a question.
"Getting back up from where you fell?" After all, Eagle Isle was probably where Victor had suffered the hardest fall in his life. He had completed the reform there, turning the godforsaken place into a global tech frontier, only to be kicked aside in the end.
