Polly Sutton finished speaking and didn't wait for Mrs. Lewis to respond, but the footsteps outside became more and more obvious. It was a bit troublesome for her to get out of bed alone, and her movements inevitably became a bit clumsy.
"Mrs. Lewis?" Polly Sutton called out again, holding onto the table with effort to stand up, "Michael?"
Just as Polly Sutton stood up, she heard the door being pushed open.
She was still holding the table, trying to put on her shoes, when she saw the person standing at the door.
The person was wearing a black trench coat, and even with the dim moonlight squeezing into the room, she could barely make out his outline.
Polly Sutton stood frozen, her vision involuntarily blurred.
Tears fell and quickly filled again, over and over.
Victor Parker strode over and pulled her into his arms, "I'm back."
