The man roared angrily, shielding his daughter behind him, glaring at her with fierce eyes, "If you insist on this, then I'll have a lawyer talk to you!"
With that, he picked up his daughter and headed upstairs.
Crossley stood there in shock, her face flushed with disbelief as she stared at the man's back.
Lawyer... Her left hand suddenly gripped the stair railing, almost losing her balance. She took a few deep breaths while looking down, then without thinking further, marched upstairs.
"Open the door!" She rushed to the master bedroom door, pounding on it desperately, "Ose, open the door! Give me back my daughter! Let's clear the air! Ose..."
Crossley was pounding so hard that the double doors banged with loud noises, yet there was no response from inside the room.
"Ose!? Can you hear me? Open the door!" Still refusing to give up, she kept pounding, then switched to kicking.
