The little girl, after all, was young and easily distracted. Upon hearing what Crossley said, she immediately stopped her actions.
She blinked and looked at her mother, "Where did Dad go? Why isn't he coming back? Does he not want Raleigh or Mommy anymore!?"
"Be good, Dad hasn't abandoned Raleigh and Mommy. Raleigh mustn't misunderstand Dad..."
Crossley only got halfway through her words when she unintentionally looked up and saw the tall figure of a man standing at the bathroom door. He leaned against the door, his handsome face extremely cold, his dark eyes plainly repressing anger.
Startled, Crossley held her daughter and walked out, but as she passed by him, the man raised his hand abruptly, propped it against the door, blocking her path.
"Leave the child." The four words, spoken coldly, were like an icicle that made one shiver.
