"Is this the place?" Shiro asked. Rune looked back at her and nodded. "Yeah."
The two of them were standing outside the entrance of the cave. It had been difficult to get there, but it was nothing compared to their journey through the mountains. The entrance was far bigger that it seemed when up close. So much so that they had to crane their heads back just to see the top of it.
"I sense something inside too. Something powerful. Rune..."
"We've come this far already, so there is only one way to find out. Stay close to me."
Just as they took the first step forward, two figures appeared in front of them. Shiro quickly drew her guns as her eyes widened dangerously. Rune also took up a fighting stance, drawing his own weapon as well, but he stopped once a realization dawned on him.
'Puppets? Are these...Miriam's guardians?'
He quickly held out his arm, signaling Shiro that it was okay.
"Shiro stop! I don't think they mean us an harm."
